Secret Luxury Bunkers

We hired Secret Luxury Bunkers for the below work 1) Patching and Epoxy flooring for 2 car garage. 2) Remove shelves and painting the walls and ceiling as well for the 2 car garage and fit the shelves back 3) Cool decking for the area around pool along with clearing out around 300 sq ft area and apply concrete. David Mitchell, the contractor/owner of Secret Luxury Bunkers provided $6.5k quote for the work. He agreed to complete this job within a week. We signed the deal on March 17th, 2021 and the work started after a week of signing. Its April 14th, 2021 the work is no where near completion. Uneven concrete applied at the 300 sq ft area. Started painting with some random color left over paint from another job for the cool deck instead of going with our choice. We stopped the painting and insisted on our color choice. Epoxy applied to garage floor without performing cleaning or pressure washing. No cement patch done at broken corners and holes on the floor before applying Epoxy. Concrete spilled on the walls, other unintended area and on garden sprinklers. The wooden shelves and refrigerator is lying outside to the mercy of rain and sun. The pool water is contaminated with the flying cement residue and is a total mess. We have already paid him around 5k ($3,250 initial payment + $1,300 + $600 for material upon request). Once we said the remaining payment is only after completion the work stopped and no one showed to work. Every day he messages saying tomorrow we are on track but no one shows up and this has been going on for 2 weeks now. We could not trust his words anymore and it feels like he is backing out from remaining work by stalling and continuously promising he still intend to finish the work but no one shows up to work. With most of the money collected, it appears there is no incentive to finish the work anymore. We are totally fed up and am writing this detailed review so that no one else falls into this trap. Do not sign the contract without a written work completion date, damage and rework cost recovery clause. Do not pay any additional money other than sign up amount for any material purchase.
