Roger Soares Chimney Services and Fireplace Repair

I made the appointment with Roger himself, he does fireplace repair as a side business. Not a full time service/repair company. I didn't discover this until after he no showed for my appt .

I called him to schedule an appt, he told me to text him my address. I did, never heard back. I then text him again and asked when he could come, he responded with a date and time that we agreed upon.

On the day of my appointment, Roger never showed up, never called. I took the morning off of work to get my fireplace repaired as the fireplace is a vital heat source for my home. After 15 min, I called, no answer. I continued to call and text him for the next hour. He did not bother answering the phone, calling me back, or cancelling the appointment.

Completely disrespectful of your time and very unprofessional. I would recommend making a service appointment with a professional company, one that would actually show up to the scheduled appointment, or in the very least, call to cancel.

Everything went well.  Roger was very professional and careful when looking at the fireplace.  He told me everything he was doing as he did it and explained what the problem was.  In this case he was able to show me how the logs had been moved and were blocking some of the flames and how the valve had gotten dirty.  He rearranged the logs, cleaned the valve and added some embers and everything is working great with no more odor issue.  He also showed me a simple preventative maintenance step I could do to prevent the valve from sticking in the future.  I would use him again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Roger was knowledgeable and discovered a valve problem quickly. He explained to me why it would not ignite. He fixed it and did not encourage me to install a new valve at a cost of $450.

I called Roger to come out and look at sweeping my chimney. He inspected it and said it did not need to be swept. I loved the honesty, so I spoke with him about putting a gas log setup into my fireplace. He had various options, was not pushy, and installed it shortly thereafter. The gas logs look incredible (very realistic these days, with cracks in the wood that make it look even more realistic). He put the embers down and setup the whole gas piece of it. Vey professional job.
We also had him and quot;keep an eye outand quot; for a use chimney cap from any future jobs and one that would fit our chimney. He called a few weeks later saying he had found one and would install it fairly inexpensively. He painted it with a special black painting and put it on the top of the chimney. It looked great and saved me probably 50% over a brand new one.
I highly recommend him and will be using him in the future for any needed work for our fireplace.

Replaced the valve in my fireplce control system and did a overall check up for my gas fireplace. Did not include chimney. Excellent work.
