Home Security System Service
In building an addition that placed our home within a 6,000 sq ft ordinace requiring fire sprinkler systems our contractor hired the services of RESCOM FIRE SYSTEMS. Initially they seemed professional but soon after the problems started.
First, they left an unprotected lightbulb in the attic (basically a cord with a bulb at the end to see inside the attic). When the power was restored to the house by the electricians who were working at the same time as them, the bulb began burning the insulation in the attic. I am a mother of two small children and when this happened my smallest one was only a few months. I had not noticed the smell until my husband came into the house after work. By that time the fire had started and the Southlake fire department had to come. RESCO pointed fingers at the contractor for having the electricity turned off and did not want to assume any responsibility for almost burning my house down! They put my life and my children's life at risk because they did not equip their personnel with the right equipment. I soon learned that they are supposed to have some kind of special light with a cage around it so that in case it is placed somewhere in the attic it does not come into contact with the insulation!
Second, they made a horrible mess with sheetrock dust and insulation which covered all our furniture. They did not bother to put plastic or coverings under them when they tore into the ceilings. I could tolerate that around the house but not in the baby's room. Again they did not want to address the problem so my contractor had to pay for Dalworth's Cleaners to come and fix their mess.
Third, not soon after they were finished that their system leaked and they had to come back to fix it. They were not very pleasant about that either.
They may be OK when dealing with new construction and commercial buildings where they do not have to deal with the safety of homeowner's lives and property but for residential systems I personally think they are terrible and place me and my family through a lot of grief. They do not even come through on their promises to clients. Through all this aggravation they promised that once I decided to complete the second attic into a playroom they would come free of charge to place a couple of sprinkler heads as a sign of good faith for us putting up with all this. When I called the manager that promised this in the past he basically refused to return my calls. I am very disappointed in them and I would tell other women out there thinking about dealing with an addition and retrofitting their home with fire sprinkler systems to beware of these guys.
