Renova Flooring

This process has been a nightmare. Patrick Kovacs made promises he could not keep. I was promised specific carpet and specific install dates that never happened. Carpet color was changed no less than six times. They claim they can install carpet next day. Two MONTHS passed before it was actually installed. My hardwoods were ripped out and new ones installed wrong and had to be replaced. 90 days into the project and they still had not finished what they said they would finish. I was promised a rebate of $1200 which I never received. There were items not complete that I had to complete myself such as the quarter round, cleaning of the glue off the hardwoods and various damages throughout the house. I had to repaint pretty much every room they entered. The baseboards were damaged so bad in the living, hall and foyer area I had to fill the holes and sand and repaint ALL the downstairs trim because they bent the nails from the removed quarter round and bent them against the trim. Glue from the floors being installed was on walls, doors, door knobs, and blinds. They broke tile at my fireplace that I had to have replaced. Basically, I lost more than 3 months of my property being vacant while they didn't finish the job as well as I could not list my home for sale. I had to pay for a minimum of three months of mortgage, utilities and yard care for that entire time which cost me approximately $3000 per month because they failed to perform as promised. I offered a settlement amount of $2500 which was the $1200 he promised and $1300 for the damages. Keep in mind that my materials without labor cost almost $1300 by itself. I didn't request utilities or mortgage so we could end this. As usual two months has almost passed and he has failed to settle. I am being forced not to pursue this legally. Don't be swayed. They use cheap materials, contractors that actually used my personal material and tools in my house and they have a bad habit of not telling the truth.
