Quikset Jewelry and Manufacture

I had two gold rings with stones that needed repair. I took them on separate dates because I wanted to be sure that I was happy with the first repair. Everyone at this business was very honest and very transparent. They made me feel very comfortable that I would get quality work and I did on both occasions. The workmanship was excellent and the timing of getting the repairs done was within two days of taking the rings in. I would highly recommend this team for any jewelry issues.

Following describes our understanding of the arrangement made with Quickset Plano for repair of our Corum watch left on 12-2-13:
You were going to get a quote for a new movement to replace the Gucci movement which “didn’t fit” in 5-7 days. You estimated the present value of the watch as $4000.
By telephone contact on 12/7/13 you said couldn’t get a quote because of the season on the year but that cost for repair would be the same as the new unit and it would be $400. You offered a 10% discount for advance payment. We gave you a credit card number for the charge which we misunderstood to be the 10% not the full amount in advance. The credit card charge on 12/9 was $402.56. We were not clear how long repair would take but after repair they would watch it to be sure it was ok. We expected a call but none came. We called several times and on 2/4 and you said it was repaired and checked and it would be cleaned and ready after 5:00pm. We arrived and picked up the watch but it did not run. We brought it back, you started it, we left but it did not run and we returned. You asked to keep it and “bring it to our house” after fixing it but we declined and took the watch.
Over the course of this contact we simply lost faith in their ability to fix the watch and believe we should either have a new movement installed or get our money back.

They were very helpful and did an excellent job. They did seem to lose my order, but had just misfiled it and all was good. I am very pleased.

Horribly. It took them over two months to repair the watches and when I finally got them back, only one worked. It then took them an additional two months to repair that one and they tried to charge me more than they quoted. Take you watch repairs somewhere else.

They found a way to fix clask without me buying a new one. Saved me money and did a good job.

I was down to one watch in the box that was still running, so I gathered them all up and took them in for new batteries. I also had a rockin' leather band a friend had given me and a watch that I hated the band on, along with a watch that was a little too loose, so I took those in, as well.
Turned out one of my watches had not one, but three batteries, so they called me to let me know and then cut me a heck of a deal on the batteries (about 30%). The other required a lithium battery that was a little more, but still reasonable enough.
The leather band wasn't sized just perfectly for the watch I wanted on it, but they tinkered with it until it worked. A few days of wear will likely get the leather to settle in on the one or two spots that aren't just perfect , and I'm getting to wear a really cool watch again.
Pulling a link out of a watchband is no big deal, but it makes a world of difference in comfort. I'm thrilled to have that one wearable again.
Overall, these guys were professional, and went the extra mile to keep me happy. I was also happy to learn that they guarantee the watch batteries for 3 years, and offer a lifetime and quot;size tweakingand quot; service on watch band links should my weight change and I need to reduce or enlarge the band. Best part of that is they keep track of it, so I don't even have to have the receipt when I go in to take advantage of those.

The process, overall, went well because John was so helpful and patient and willing to work with us. I can't really think of any negative things to say, except John's bid for our heirloom gold was a trifle low and we didn't accept it. As far as fixing jewelry and watches, Quikset has been great with us over the years. And John was especially nice with me and my son to fashion his intended's engagement ring. One thing, this is not really a retail jewelry store, as they don't carry much inventory. Be forewarned that if you're looking for a particular setting or type of jewelry, you will need to be comfortable with ordering from catalogues and then seeing if what they get in fits your needs. This is what we did with the actual engagement ring setting -- John ordered in several settings and then we chose. If you're in a hurry, you might want to use a retail jewelry store, as with Quikset, you will need to be patient about picking your setting and ordering it in and then deciding. But if you have the time, you can fashion a ring or other piece of jewelry that will exactly fit your taste, as opposing to picking something from the window case at a retail jewelry store.
