Over a several week period, Ben Tavakolian and his crew, came out and inspected my (mostly) antique handwoven Persian rugs.  He picked up 11 of the rugs and took them to his premises.  The rugs were cleaned extensively and a few small reconditioning tasks were performed.  The rugs were returned -- total time was about 4 weeks, within his estimated window.  He does an excellent job and is extremely knowledgeable.  He gave me advice on how to care for several of the rugs and told me a little of the history about a couple of the rugs ( I had several that I did not know point of origins, etc and he was able to give me his insight).  The rugs were well treated and came back in phenomenal condition. His crew is well-informed and careful with not just the rugs but the furniture that sat on the rugs.
This service is not cheap but, depending on the value of the rugs in question, it is a valuable service. First class service is not inexpensive but Ben provides first class service.  He also has the facilities and experts to do re-weaving and restorations including re-dyeing damaged parts of rugs--their work is the best I have ever seen (not a part of the cost listed above as it is highly variable in cost and somewhat expensive for substantial jobs).
Bottom line: I have used them several times and will again.

FROM CALLS I MADE TO OTHER COMPANIES, THE PRICE SEEMED COMPARABLE. PICKUP AND DELIVERY WERE PROMPT. WHAT IMPRESSED ME MOST WAS THAT THE OWNER, AT EACH STAGE OF THE WORK, CONTACTED ME AND GAVE ME A PRICE BREAKDOWN HOW MUCH WORK WAS REMAINING AND LET ME CHOOSE WHICH TASKS I WANTED DONE. (IE, I WANTED THE EDGE REPAIRED ON ONE RUG BUT NOT THE OTHER, DIDN'T WANT SMALL HOLES REPAIRED ON ONE BUT WANTED TWO TEARS PATCHED).
Response from Persian Rug Cleaner

"Thank you for letting us hand repair the torn edge and moth damage areas. We try to let all of our customers know that if you see moths there is a good chance there are moth eggs that also cause damage to wool products. We were able to repair the past damage and prevent any more damage from moths and hatching moth eggs. Our enzyme wash was also used to sanitize and remove stains from your urine stained rug. The owner is still the one that performs the pre and post inspection of every rug so we are able to customize every order to specific request from every customer. Thank You for your review and I know it will help other rug owners care and enjoy their rugs for years to come. There are more FREE tips and tricks on our website at www.BehnamRugs.com"
