Overall, our experience working with Ed and Jay Paul and their crews was better than we ever anticipated. We found Ed and Jay through a friend who described a similar experience. We started working with Ed and Jay on our design which was was done at no charge upon awarding them the bid. Each step of the way, we witnessed significant differences in quality over what we have seen in other new homes and remodels - the Pauls pay attention to detail, which shows in their work product. Since we've never built a home before, we expected the unexpected. Yes a few minor 'here and there's' - and the Paul's took care of them no questions asked. We are extremely happy with the quality of the finish out work. Ed and Jay advised us where to spend more and less money. Their finish-out crew and painters are incredibly detailed and professional. Two nice surprises were the windows --initial bid was metal windows -- and the Pauls found us wooden high-quality brand windows at a minor difference in price. Also, we did not ask for crown molding upstairs, and Ed and Jay put it in at no extra charge. So we have to mention 'challenges' as well. The only thing I can think of is timing. You would wish that this type of work could be done like clockwork, and we had some delays - many of which the Pauls could not control. In the end, the finish out crew made up time by working weekends (thank you!). The Pauls are wonderful to work with. They are honest, hardworking, and just plain nice - we genuinely trust them, which is so important on a project of this scale.
