I took my laptop to the shop for repairs. I was told the hard drive needed to be replaced. When I asked how much this would cost, I was told approximately $120.00. That seemed reasonable. When I came back to pick up the laptop, the cost was $270.00. When I asked why so much higher, I was told the $120.00 only covered the cost of the hardware. This did not include the cost to reinstall.
I don't know if the Owner intentionally misled me on the cost, or, if he thought I should know what computer repairs cost.
Lesson learned....if you need a quote, get it in writing.

Prompt. Knowledgeable. Listened to me and didn't make me feel stupid because I'm not a computer whiz. Didn't try to up-sell me or talk me into more stuff than I really needed. Came back promptly to address an issue with sound on my computer. Custom built my unit within a 24-hour period and they are there remotely and in person if I need them.

Forget the fast-talking razzzle-dazzle of the big box retailers who try to push every new and overly expensive gizmo at you whether you need it or not.
