Responding to an ad in the Dallas Morning News, we invited a salesperson from Encore Windows & Doors (encorewindowstx.com) out to the house to pitch us an offering to replace 21 windows in our home. Encore has the same address as NuView Windows, so apparently it is the same, or a successor, company. The salesperson proposed and spoke in glowing terms about the companies' own aluminum "thermal broke" windows (the proper term is "thermal break"). The salesperson provided no sample or brochure, and would not answer any question in writing that detailed the window or offering, including model, number, size, type, or CPD number (see below) for the proposed windows, so there was no way for us to check for errors in the quote, or verify that the offering met our requirements. Checking the Certified Product Directory (CPD) on the National Fenestration Rating Council website (nfrc.org), there is no listing for a product manufactured by Encore Windows, so there was no way for us to determine the actual manufacturer, or verify the various performance rating factors for the proposed windows. After repeated attempts and subsequent failures to have our questions answered, we terminated discussions with the salesperson.
