We contracted him to install a travertine tile floor which included tear out ..
He said up front he did not ask for payment until the job was finished and that he could install any tile pattern we wanted for the negotiated price of $4000
First, he did not bring the right tools for the job and actually tried to bust out our slate tile floor by hand taking extra time (with his apprentice) and then asked to charge me another $300 extra. Warning sign #1
I told him he needed an air hammer and I rented it and it got the job done very quickly, he did not seem happy it went quicker (Warning sign #2). After demo he started installing by himself and he started to struggle with the pattern. His assistants did not always cut the tile correctly and his installation was poor and uneven.. He seemed to figure the pattern out but by the 3rd day.
Then he asked for a $1500 payment to pay his two subs (Warning sign #3) ... that was surprising given he said he wanted no payment until done. We reluctantly gave him a check for that amount.
The next day he complained that he was having an issue getting the pattern to line up it was taking a lot longer and asked for an additional $1000 to finish it ! (Warning Sign #4)
He said if I was more lenient on the pattern he would would keep the same price so I agreed to do that. Then at lunch he WALKED OFF THE JOB and did not inform us he was going to do that !! He left a mess in our front yard I had to clean up and now we are stuck with a pattern that will cost us much more to have finished by some else, not to mention the tile he did install was uneven and will need to be fixed.
VERY unprofessional and substandard workmanship .

This guy couldn't show up or finish on time to save his life! While he did try to be very accommodating, he really bit off more than he could chew and was constantly trying to add on to the job before completing original tasks. He had a constant problem with unreliable and unknown subs. The work which he himself completed was satisfactory, but I cannot say as much for those under his employ. He is completely unorganized and unprofessional. In the end, he failed to return and repair a permanent problem he caused. I completely regret hiring him and wish I had paid more to have somebody else do the work. Would have saved me a lot of time and headaches. I definitely got what I paid for in this instance.

Did a very spotty job. Paint was two different shade. Call mr. Nicholas back but answered so left message still no call back. I sent email and got a replied few days later saying he will come back to fix, but never did..he calls himself professional handy man/ expert painter!
Found out that mr Nicholas used 4$ spray bottles to do the job.

I gave him 50% of the money and he took the money and he never appeared to do the job. I have called and called him. He is not trustworthy at all. I dislike him 100%. I would never recommend them.

II do not want to recommend him to anybody. I go to know about him through a flyer outside my home. He was supposed to be fixing things around my house, but pretty much did nothing. He did a very bad job. He spoilt the door knob, next he fixed the door in such a way that the door sits outside. He wasted decking boards and made me buy more. I asked him to redo the window pane in a room and he never painted it. I also asked him to do some insulation on flooring in the toilet. He spoilt that also. He did not even do simple things right.
