M.V. Investments

This company, owned and operated by one person, Joe Ventura, is a General Contract company. They rehab homes for investors. MVI rehabbed 5 homes for me before I fully realized what was going on. On one of the homes, they charged me $500 to replace an out dated circuit breaker panel, but they did not do the work. I asked for a refund, but after several promises, none were provided. In another home, the original contract with MVI called for all new windows. But when it came time to replace the windows, Joe Ventura instructed the window man to NOT install 3 of them, for which he put the money into his pocket. I guess he thought I wouldn't notice. On another house, MVI installed the power receptacle for the dishwasher, but failed to connect it to the CB panel. It cost me another $200 to get the wire run and connected. And in the final episode (July 2012), MVI was contracted to do a complete trash removal from a really trashed out back yard. He told me he would bring in two dumpsters for the trash removal, but he lied. He used a private trailer at almost no cost to him (no dumpsters). Then he ran off and did not complete the job which cost me two additional dumpsters and 6 man hours of labor to complete. Caveat Emptor!
