Mr QuickFix
About us
REPAIRING THINGS is the main focus of my business. I have been repairing things since early on, when in my father's business we often had to find quick solutions to broken and non-functioning things, especially when no repair help was close by. That's where I learned the basics of the many practical skills that allow me today to "quick-fix" a multitude of things. The "quick" stands for the fact that I work fast, yet never inaccurately or sloppy. I often come up with solutions where others don't, and I take special pride in doing nice, clean jobs. I also ALWAYS clean up after my job is finished (which is not necessarily very common...). I'm a friendly and respectful person and get very well along with people. Obviously, I have lots of excellent references to prove it. Home owners frequently leave me with a key to their house, so I can do work in their absence. Typically, I come by and take a look at the job(s) you have and then discuss the details with you and will then give you a general price idea. But normally I work strictly BY THE HOUR, and ONLY if a job picture is clear and definite enough, I may give you a firm price. (Please understand that in the home repair business there can be all kinds of unforeseen issues that often make it difficult to determine an exact price). I usually work all by myself, but in certain situations I may bring one or two other persons which are compatible with me - and your environment - in every respect. To cover my trip time, I charge $30 extra for my first work hour within a 12 mile radius from my home base. If my commute exceeds 12 miles, the trip charge will increase on a pro-rated scale. Please TEXT ME, or give me a call under 214-734-6293 or email me at [email protected] to discuss your home repair needs. I'm looking forward to meeting with you! "It’s sad to see how this disgruntled customer is twisting his account of what happened and is actually lying about it. We were called by him in September under hot and dry weather conditions with the specific request of re-caulking two windows, one above his garage and the other at his house. Even though he mentioned a leak, as visible by the damage in his garage ceiling, he never specifically asked us to “find a leak.” Given the dry weather at the time, this would’ve been virtually impossible to do. The customer himself had previously climbed up on his roof and noticed the deteriorated caulk on both windows. That’s why he asked for those areas to be recaulked. Both caulking jobs were performed under great difficulty because of the hard-to-access roof locations. My workman did a diligent job by removing the old cracked and crusted caulking material and replacing it solidly with a new tar material which is best suited for these types of applications. It was pointed out to the customer that there was also a vertical brake line in the bricks which had been caulked before and was also recaulked by us at this time. We were NOT hired to search or hunt for a leak, but rather directed by the customer to caulk these two windows because of their obvious and visible conditions. When the job was finished, the workman performed a thorough water leak test with the customer’s garden hose, and there was no leak observed at any point, as the customer also personally confirmed at that time. Now that there was another heavy rain storm, apparently water became visible again in his garage. The customer demanded that we “come back and fix the leak,” even though we had exactly done what he has previously asked of us to do. I had lengthy discussions with him about other potential reasons for this leak, including the deteriorated lower wood frame of the window and also some bulging and crumbling bricks underneath the window, but he did not want to accept those alternative scenarios. Basically, he demanded that we go on a search now and find out what the leak is. I mentioned to him that the caulking job had been done well and that it couldn’t be the reason for the observed leak. (We made before and after pictures to prove our case, and the customer has them too). I explained to him that any work beyond this point would be outside of our ability and scope of work. I recommended that he contact a bonafide window company for the bottom wood frame repair and a bricklayer/mason to address the crumbling bricks. He never mentioned this in his review. The monetary charge he now complains about is absolutely justified, since it is the sum of cost for labor time and materials applied to both jobs, and as exactly laid out before him. I resent and absolutely deny the customer’s false account of the events given in his statements above. He basically wants things done for free and does not accept any explanation about probable other reasons for the leak that we are unable to help him with. He should retract this false review. My workman affirms the correctness of the details as given above."
"Thank you sir. You were very kind and understanding. I’m glad we were able to arrange this situation."
