"Thank you so much for the kind words! We are very appreciative to have you as a client and are so glad you are pleased with our service! Sara"
Maria took care of everything. Kitchen, floors, dusting, sheets and towels washed, and even cleaning our leather furniture. Sara routinely checks on how things are going and to see if there is anything that needs attention. I really appreciate that extra mile of attention! I would recommend Mess Masters to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and all around excellent cleaning service.
started ten years ago. I was very resistant to having someone clean my
house for several reasons. First, I feel guilty having someone else
clean my house even if I am paying them. I feel this way about other
services, too, like pedicures. It also makes me feel weird to have
someone I don't know in my house. Finally, I didn't like paying someone
to do something for me that I could easily do myself. It felt
wasteful. EVEN THOUGH I AM LAZY AND NOT GOOD AT CLEANING.
We
have been using Mess Masters for over two years. Mess Masters is owned
by Sara. She came to our house and gave an estimate and explained how
everything would work. They use natural, eco-safe products and require
you to provide some of the supplies. They have several different
options for cleaning. It's not cheap, but I don't think it's expensive
either. The price depends on how often you clean and how big your house
is. Also, they do one deep clean the first time since you probably
don't clean as
well as they do.
I have never lived in a place
as clean as my house after Maria cleans it. Maria is the best, and she
is also very nice. She does little extra things sometimes and
surprises us. This just makes me happy. I still feel guilty, but the
guilt is less when I walk around my hard wood floors and I don't have
pieces of dirt sticking to my feet. The floors are so clean they
squeak! I love Mess Masters; they are very easy to work with and do a
fantastic job.
Unfortunately, Mess Masters does not currently clean north of 635 or in high rise
buildings. You might want to move so you can use them!
"Hello! Thank you very much for the glowing review! We passed your compliments onto Maria. I know they will mean a lot to her, as they do to us. We thank you for being such great clients! Sara"
I also might add that I love the products they use which are environmentally friendly and all natural. They are safe for my small boys who are constantly playing on our hardwood floors. I also purchase their all natural lavendar air spray.
"Hi! We are happy we were able to make your transition to Dallas a little easier. I know moving can be a very trying ordeal. Thank you for your kind words and for being our client! Sara"
Mess Masters provided services to us for 18 months. During that time, a pattern emerged:
Mess Masters would have a team do the initial deep cleaning. A cleaner would be assigned to our house. At first, the cleaner would seem to do a good job. Then, as the weeks passed, the cleaner would spend less time at our house and begin skipping items. If/when we noted deficiencies, the owner would and quot;overseeand quot; the work the following week to resolve the issue. Repeat. If we complained frequently, the cleaner would be replaced. Repeat process.
Mess Masters frequently blamed either the cleaner for skipping items, or us for being too messy. (Yes, really!) I have a folder of emails from them asking us to do things differently at our home (e.g., purchase baskets for organization so that the cleaner would not need to move items to wipe a surface). We are disorganized...but their company name is Mess Masters....and we wouldn't hire a cleaning company if we didn't need help! Looking back, I have now realized that the owner was constantly pushing the cleaners to work faster, and likely directing them to skip items when she did not believe it would be noticeable to us, the homeowners.
After I began noting deficiencies/skipped items almost weekly, the owner let me know that they would need to increase their prices. This is after they quoted us a price for a weekly cleaning that was to include the whole house, but had never been required to clean two rooms that we were not using because we had just moved in and hadn't fully unpacked. At that point, I finally reacted to the constant emails from Mess Masters asking us to make changes in our home, in spite of them constantly not performing the services on their own checklist, asking them to either quote us the correct price and fully clean our home, without complaint (this is a cleaning service - not rocket science), or to move on. They opted to move on, and suggested that we contact a domestic placement agency for a housekeeper.
I ignored Mess Masters' suggestion to hire a housekeeper, and instead hired another cleaning company I found on Angie's List. After three months, I am pleased to report the other company is: cheaper; faster; more thorough; and does not complain about our home or habits. We have had one lady clean our home weekly, the same as the service we were receiving from Mess Masters, for $40 less than what we were paying Mess Masters each week, and have been so much happier with the owner of the company we are now using and her staff. I wish I had moved on to another service provider much sooner.
"Mess Masters always appreciates feedback from our clients. In fact, we pride ourselves in the level of excellent customer service that we have been able to provide our customers for over 21 years. We are very sorry that we were not able to meet the needs of this client. In this situation, for over a year, this client stated several times in emails and phone calls that she was pleased with her cleaner and our services. There were a few instances where she would request that a task be improved, and we would immediately address the issue and check back in with her to make sure that she was pleased. However, as we checked the home, we realized on several occasions that this client expected more than she had originally requested in the initial estimate. In fact, when we performed the initial estimate, where we walked through each room of her house and took detailed notes, the house was very tidy and organized; however, upon returning to the home during routine checks, we realized that the client’s expectations had greatly changed. However, we continued to clean this client’s home with the added duties without raising her price. We did inform the client that if she needed to continue leaving a kitchen full of dirty dishes, most of them needing to be hand-washed due to food being left on them, we would need to increase her price so that the cleaner would be fairly compensated for her extra time. When the client moved to a much larger home after having used our services for over a year, we did speak with her about switching her cleaner and she agreed that would be the best situation. We came and did another detailed estimate of the new, larger home, and we very clearly communicated to her what services we offered for the price that was quoted. (105.00 for downstairs one week and 135.00 for whole house the next week, plus tax. We are always willing to add certain services for additional costs, but the client did not want to add the extra money to her weekly rate. After several attempts to communicate to this client that she was continuing to exceed the expectations that were agreed upon, she continued to ignore our requests. Yes, we suggested the client get a small basket for her bathroom counter so that our cleaner could actually get to the counter surface in order to clean it. We thought it would be taken as a helpful suggestion. We are sorry our intentions were not communicated more clearly. Overall, I feel like we had an ongoing miscommunication issue with this client, and we are sorry that it did not work out better in the end. We do realize that we may not be the service for everyone and that is why we let her go and suggested she find an individual through an agency that could better meet her needs."
