No precise contract given. When asked for one they said they wouldn't be able to help me. We had agreed to achieve my vision with their help, which they said was imprecise and would flow organically. HOWEVER, every alteration was charged for, including: Glass in doors that they remade; their original idea of reducing the size of the center island and creating a hood over the stove which was part of my original contact with them. Replacing the sink fixtures, which we had purchased, which were too slow and the plumber replaced and charged me for the second installation. This faucet also flows slowly. They never finished the trim, toe molding, at the base of the island, leaving a 1/2 to 1 inch gap between the counter and floor. Did not install any molding at the base of the cabinets, which were to have been stained and installed. Floors not properly woven in to existing floor. We also had a quickly spreading fire which destroyed part of the flooring. According to the Captain of one of the two fire engines that came that the source was paper wadded into a light fixture which the painters had covered. Due to mismanagement of the job many things had to be redone. Including re-scraping the accoustic ceiling, which was removed as stated at the very beginning to modernize it. The painters had already blown in an entirely new ceiling, when I stopped them and they checked with Margaret and Kathy and had to remove and repaint!. Original bid: $ 24,000, final cost with job incomplete: $44,000.
Description of Work: Reused original cabinets, painted and antiqued Resized the center island Repurposed doors and drawers from island Added granite countertops, new sink, over the stove hood Added my back splash tiles Built wooden hood enclosure Added floating wood floors to cover the reduced size of the island. Replaced two doors with glass. Replaced doors to bar (off the kitchen) Added recessed lighting Painting
