Dr. Ken Ward is always so caring and loving. It is wonderful to be with the vet when he is examining your dog/cat and get his immediate feedback. I have never dealt with an assistant. I have been going to him for 20 years and have never had a bad moment. Recently I had to take a rescue puppy to another clinic, and it was chilling...cold, uncaring, and no vet until we were ready to go home. The puppy was taken away from me to who knows where by someone?. I sat in a small room waiting. Finally "someone" came back to tell me the vet would be right with me. The vet came in later and told what me he had found with the puppy and when they could neuter him. (Dr. Ward no longer neuters, therefore, the other clinic)
I cannot say the clinic was bad or the work was anything but really good, but the experience for me was a super let down. At one point, I asked to see a vet on another visit, and was refused.
Just to get in another BIG perk: Dr. Ward was out of town, and my daughter had to quickly put her dog down. We went to one of these national clinics that I described above. The vet (?) put in an iv and slowly put that dog down. It was absolutely horrible. Then he charged a large sum. Dr. Ward's method: You hold your pet, and he asks you when you are ready. When you are, he gives the pet a shot, and the pet is immediately down. No charge. A month or so later, you are given a brick with the pet's name and the dates.
So, until one of us kicks the bucket, Ken Ward is my vet. I would think a true pet lover would fall all over any road blocks to take their pet to Knox Park Clinic.
