JR Touch Up and Restoration

Beware of contracting with Julio Rivas. He made a decision of redoing some cabinets that I mentioned I only wanted them refaced. He took them out without my permission. WOW! When I approached him about this issue, what he said was, I gave you something better. I said, shouldn't I have been consulted before this was done? I said, how would you feel if I had done that to you without your prior knowledge? That is simply poor business practice. His work is good, yet you have to stay on top of what is being accomplished. He hardly showed up at the time that he stated. I had a handicap partner who cannot get up to open the door and coordination is thus very important. Julio mentioned he would fill in the screw heads where he attached the cabinets to the walls but when I called him about it, he never returned my phone calls and texts. He has poor communication skills and that is not a good business practice. Do your homework and get everything in writing. Look around and get several quotes.

Julio reconstructed my master bathroom cabinets after they had been completely removed to repair a water leak in the wall. He did an amazing job! He also replaced all the hardware with new, easy close, drawer and door closures. My cabinets look fabulous! Julio's quote was exactly what the final cost was. He and his crew were attentive to protecting my carpets and furniture throughout the project. Everything was professionally done and the cleanup afterwards was excellent. I highly recommend JR Touchup and Restoration! I will be using him again for my future projects.

I had a very unusual kitchen remodel request, and Julio didnâ t bat an eye at it. He and his team pulled it off completely. My house was built in 1941, so I wanted something period appropriate. Julio and his team pulled through, and he even put me in contact with great electric/plumbing people (old houses always need extra work). He responds quickly, fairly priced. Good guy to work with. I have a few furniture pieces now Iâ m going to bother him about.

Julio is very professional! He delivered on everything he said he was going to do! He remodeled our kitchen cabinets, they look 110% better than before, you cannot go wrong with hiring him! He pays attention to the small details, takes pride in his work, and will make sure to check everything with you at the end just in case you have an issue with anything, and if you do he will correct it. He is very reasonably priced and worth every penny! I HIGHLY recommend and will definitely hire again for future projects! Thanks again for everything Julio!

Overall, JR is the biggest bang for your buck. One thing to consider is he does not accept credit or debit cards, only cash or check. I haven't written a check in years, so I had to go buy a money order. If you can get past that minor nuance and pay cash up front, then you will not find a cheaper cabinet contractor. Trust me, I priced several. JR's work quality is as good or better than the others, so I would definitely recommend.

Julio, the owner, was wonderful to work with. I would give Julio and his company more than a 5-star rating if possible. Julio was professional, honest, fast and takes pride in his work. He helped me update my kitchen and it has made a huge difference in the look of my house. He built and installed new cabinets and put me in contact with someone to replace my counter-top and back-splash. JR is the best he and his team gave me cabinets that I've always wanted. He came gave me estimate and delivered all he promised and more. He said the whole project would take about 10 days but I think he finished with 3 days to spare. I would recommend JR to anybody.

This contractor was honest and dependable. Excellent customer service from start to finish. He stained my kitchen cabinets and they are beautiful. I was also needing some electrical work done(new kitchen lighting) and he gave recommendations. He even followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied with the work of the electrician. Refinished already installed cabinets and updated with new doors. Not quite finished but so far excellent work. Loved that he kept me updated at every step. He also refinished and restored an heirloom piece of furniture that looks lovely.

Julio Rivas did a great job and kept us informed all through the process. We not only had our cabinets done by Mr. Rivas but also did a kitchen remodel. He had contacts for plumbers, painters and electricians. He saw that all the work was done professionally and we trusted him in our home even when we weren t there. He did a wonderful job.

Going Above and Beyond....Mr. Julio Rivas is a very honest, professional and thorough contractor. He refinished our already installed cabinets, that had been in the house for quite some time. I've waited a year to write a review to be sure my comments were complete. So far, the stain is still as new. I've found very minor cleanup issues involving removing stain from non-stained surfaces and some cabinet doors are still stiff to open and close. I considered the price reasonable. Overall, JR did a very good job and will recommend them.

If you know what you want and tells Julio, he deliver. He refinished already installed cabinets, that has been in the housed more than 30 years. The cabinet look new. I will call him again. He is now restoring weak antique chairs to my dining kitchen area. I gave Julio 1 chair and it is not weak, very steady. He protect the area that he is working in and clean up daily. We had our wooden cabinets painted white by JR. It's one year later and I still get compliments on how great they look. The work was done quickly and for much less than replacing all the cabinets. He was also a wealth of knowledge on several other things around the house for us first time homeowners. I highly recommend this company.
