Customer service prior to the move was excellent with frequent contacts and confirmations.  Movers did arrive on time when expected.  Team was friendly.  However, they were completely unfamiliar with moving a front-load washer and installation of the kit, despite the fact that I specifically addressed that with the rep before hiring them.  I literally had to look up installation instructions on internet and print for them.  I'm paying the hourly rate while doing this.  Then they damaged several items during the move and their office has been completely unresponsive to calls and emails.  I still have not collected the minimal amount of insurance payment due.

First of all they were available for all days....this should have been the first clue.  The day was not exactly the best moving day considering that Friday the 6th was snow and sleet overnight.  So the roads were frozen solid and they decided to send two movers which would have been sufficient, considering we had everything boxed waiting.  This was after multiple attempts from us to check status on Friday, only to find out at 630pm they were not coming. The problem was the 'management' made the decision to send them on the worst possible road day of the year.  The second issue is the substandard management sent a 17 foot truck to move a 3100 sq.ft. house to a 3,800 sq.ft.house and had to make 3 trips due to poor loading.  One mover was quite experienced and tried to make everything right.  During the move the owner was constantly calling to get a status of the movers.  After the 3rd trip with another17 ft truck of equipment still unloaded, the manager tried to hustle the movers to get more money because they are now encroaching 8 hours of on the job.  Mind you, the 1st truck took all of 35 minutes to load and wrong times were used to bill.  I was more or less threatened to not get the rest of my effects until I paid more with the manager being very unprofessional over the phone with the movers.  I told the mover that I am not paying more due to their inability to schedule the correct assets for moving.  Had the movers had a 26 foot truck, we would have been done.  To add to the turmoil, the movers started arguing midway through the process.  We also had damage with our effects, which we awaited the threatening calls from the management to discuss compensation.  This did not occur.  Needless to say I had to enlist the help of my 15 yr old son and U-Haul truck to complete the move they did not complete.  I have moved multiple times due to the military myself without anywhere near the stress of pure exhaustion of helping movers and dealing with the hustling of their management/movers.  If I ever need help moving; I will stick with coworkers, friends, pizza and adult beverages for compensation.
