Excellent work. They were on time, quoted a great price, cleaned up perfectly, and even chopped and stacked wood for our fire pit. 4 guys did all the work, very friendly and professional. Great experience all the way around. Will definitely use them in the future.

Unfortunately, we recently had a TERRIBLE experience with JD's. We hired them to trim our large trees as well as remove a a couple of trees, the roots, and grind the stumps. While removing one of the trees they hit a sprinkler line pipe and cut the electrical wiring for the sprinkler. Mistakes happen but rather than tell us about the issue, they turned off the sprinkler valve and moved on down the road. I didn't realize the issue until a few days later when I tried to run the sprinkler and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the sprinkler main and the water was off so I turned the water back on and sure enough a pool of water started to form in the exact spot where the tree was removed. I called Greg with JD's to tell him what happened and he confessed that he knew what happened but didn't think it was a big deal because they thought it was a dead sprinkler line...yet they turned off the sprinkler main - needless to say the story wasn't adding up. I told him we would be deducting the cost to repair the sprinkler line from the tree trimming invoice - he was completely unapologetic and said he was disappointed because they did a lot of hard work. The cherry on top is that they didn't finish the root removal where they hit the line and the roots are now growing back up in the yard. Extremely disappointed in JD's - we understand that mistakes happen but to lie, cover it up, and not finish the job is unacceptable and unprofessional. Plenty of other tree trimmers out there that will be getting our future business.

Overall I wasn't impressed. The trees look great and I had no problems with the crew though they didn't pick up their trash. Neither did they cut something they weren't supposed to. It's the owner who strikes me as clueless. I should have been worried when I didn't sign a contract. I thought I'd go with a local Oak Cliff business. Not next time. During the initial meeting I noticed he didn't take notes. I was surprised but okay. However the last time the crew was onsite to trim trees they I had specifically pointed out at the first meeting he called me. We'd talked previously to set up the day so there wasn't anything new. I was in a meeting at work so didn't answer; he called again. I didn't answer. He then sent me a text message wanting me to call him. We discussed AGAIN want I thought should be cut. Again, the trees look great. I really am happy with the end result. It was getting there that was hard.

Quick and easy process. Jeff gave us quotes on a few options we were considering and was very accessible by phone and text. I had talked with Jeff about saving some of the pecan wood for firewood rather than sending it all out with bulk trash, and his team asked what length I'd like and where I'd like a woodpile made and stacked it up nicely. They cleaned up nicely and set everything out for bulk pick up.

JD is great, on this projeect his company EXCEEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. He always responds promptly, he knows what he is doing, and he does a very good job and his crew does good cleanup, including blowing all the leaves off my roof and raking the yard.. Excellent service. We got 3 quotes and JDs was the lowest so it was an easy choice to hire him again. I have had JD work on our current house and previous house and always get good value from his services. His crew does an excellent job and he knows his trees and gives good advice on what to trim and how to do it.
I highly recommend using JD for tree trimming, pruning and planting. He cares a great deal for his work and wants his customers yards to look their best.

They thinned out green limbs from my beloved shade and tree without permission, and left the limbs I hired them to cut still pressing onto the power line! Workers showed up with chainsaws going, didn’t even knock on the door and by the time I could throw some clothes on to get out there – some damage was already done on a different tree – a beautiful green limb (my
favorite one to view from my home window) was on the ground! I was in shock, upset, but still calm as I explained to the crew to only cut brown/dead not green, except those touching the roof and power line! I went into detail explaining to the crew again
everything I had clearly communicated to JD. Where was JD? I looked around, he was no where to be found. I went to the worker near the shade tree needing trimmed off the power line and specifically instructed him details “Only those limbs (pointed to
exact limbs), on the power line, nothing else! Only brown/dead limbs, nothing else!” I was so nervous I even pointed to other trees and shrubs that were not even part of the job and said “Not that tree. Don’t cut anything on that tree.” I ran into the house to call JD, and got a machine! I left a panicked message to PLEASE come over here now and supervise his crew, and explained everything.
He did call me back promptly, and I went over all the above - which he agreed that we had agreed on prior - and he promised to come supervise the crew, “I’m on my way.” He also said he was calling them immediately to stop working until he got there, only cut brown/dead not green. Well, I work at a hospital so I had to get to work. When I came home, I felt completely devastated at what I saw on the curb. I took plenty of pictures of the mass quantity of GREEN LIVING LIMBS on my curb for bulk pick up! I called JD, he came over to survey the damage. He was polite and apologetic but couldn’t explain why the job had been so botched. Nor could he explain why the limbs pressing on the power line that I had hired him to trim – the main reason for the job – were still there. He seemed to be just as shocked and dismayed as I was so you better believe he never showed up to supervise his crew as he promised! He asked me to let him personally complete the job, I responded, “I’m way too angry right now and would have to
say no on that.” He agreed to not charge me for the service (it was to be a little over $400 I think). Please accept my apology for not reporting this sooner. Truth is, I felt so devastated by the whole experience that I couldn’t even talk about it until now.

They were incredibly responsive when setting up an appointment for a quote. The owner came out, assessed the state of the tress to determine if they were salvagable or not. It was determined at the time that the trees had too much mistletoe and would not survive for much longer. He gave a good quote, and worked with my bulk trash schedule to eliminate the haul off cost. They were prompt in arriving to complete the work less than a week after the original quote visit. They completed the work in a day. overall I was really impressed with the service provided and would definitely use them again.

I had a dying hackberry tree that was right over my house and could at any time fall right into my bedroom. JD returned my call and came the next day and gave me the price to cut the tree off at the ground. The only problem I had was with scheduling,, but that was nothing to gripe about. My fence and roof are intact, the tree is now cut up in my parkway awaiting the city pickup. I am very satisfied with JD and will definitely use him again and again and again..

I like him. I would say that he needs to be around to make sure that his workers do exactly what they are suppose to do. For example, he will get them setup and then go to another job and they end up not doing what I had asked them to do. You've just got to make sure that he is very clear on what you want to have done. I had to have them come back and finish up a couple of things. He's a great guy and his workers were really nice, but there was some communication errors which caused certain things not to get done. They were suppose to clean off some stuff on my carport and that didn't get done.

I’m very satisfied with JD's Tree Service Company. I pay them $400 for every other year. They do tree trimming and pruning. I would continue using them in the future.

We have been using JD's Tree Service for about 5 years. Greg, the owner, is responsive, professional and very experienced. His crew has been with him for along time, and he lives in the neighborhood, so reputation is important. Every time we have one of these terrible storms, whether from wind, ice or rarely snow, Greg comes and evaluates, estimates and delivers. He'll walk the property with you and recommend different options, if applicable. He really loves trees and knows how to prune them to keep their health and improve the tree's look. No hacker here. He has a chipper and cleans up thoroughly after the work is done. Can't say enough good things about him and his biz.

RESPONDED PROMPTLY. REMOVED THE TREE BRANCH THE SAME DAY. EVEN THOUGH I AGREED TO LET HIM LEAVE THE BRANCH AND OTHER MATERIALS ON THE SIDE OF THE YARD NEAR THE STREET FOR CITY OF DALLAS REMOVAL, HE LEFT THE DEBRIS ON THE SIDEWALK WHICH I COULD HAVE BEEN FINED FOR. I HAD TO MOVE THE DEBRIS OFF THE SIDEWALK MYSELF. THE FENCE WAS REPAIRED WELL AND TIMELY. I ASKED FOR LEFT OVER MATERIALS I HAD PAID FOR, SO THAT I COULD MAINTAIN THE FENCE AS NEEDED AND HE NEVER LEFT ANY OF IT FOR ME. THE GUY LOOKED AT THE ROOF AND SAID NO DAMAGE HAD BEEN DONE WITHOUT CLIMBING A LADDER FOR CLOSE INSPECTION AND TALKED AS IF HE REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO FIX THE GUTTERING. GREG DOBBS, THE MAN IN CHARGE ACTED AND SOUNDED LIKE HE DIDN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED BY THE ROOF AND GUTTERING EITHER. I FINALLY TOLD HIM TO FORGET IT BECAUSE MY CONFIDENCE IN HIM DOING THE JOB HAD DROPPED TO NIL. I HAD ASKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR AN ITEMIZED BILL AND NEVER RECEIVED ONE.

JD WAS PROMPT ON QUOTING THE BID AND DOING THE WORK. THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON THE TREES AND WERE BOTH PROFESSIONAL AND HARD WORKING. WE WILL USE HIM IN THE FUTURE AND HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THEM TO NEIGHBORS.

JD RETURNED MY CALL FOR AN ESTIMATE PROMPTLY AND MADE A VERY REASONABLE BID FOR THE TREE TRIMMING. HIS STAFF CAME OUT AND PERFORMED THE WORK EFFICIENTLY AND HE CHECKED IN ON THE JOB TO MAKE SURE I WAS SATISFIED. EVERYONE I DEALT WITH AT THE COMPANY WAS EXTREMELY POLITE AND COURTEOUS. I'D HIRE THEM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.
