Holcomb Tree Service

This was my second time to use Holcolmb. The first time was for stump grinding. They did a great job & I will use them again.

We used them at three different houses for tree removal and trimming. They are excellent.

I have used Holcomb for years and have always been satisfied with their work.  The work performed to take the Oak tree down was great.  I was very impressed with the crew chief, Marty.   Very personable, professional and wanted to make sure I was comfortable with what they were going to do.   Stump grinding is a different crew on a different day and they did fine as well.   My biggest beef was that these were appointments scheduled a month in advance and neither was done on the day scheduled.  The tree is in my backyard so we had to be home to enable access.   Not only was it not done on the day scheduled, but they did not call me to let me know, I had to call them to find out where they were.  On the day of the tree removal appointment, I was assured twice that day they were coming.   However, they were a no show and I sat at home all day waiting.  When I called the next morning, they were surprised to hear no one came to do the work and came to do the work that morning.    On the date of the stump grinding I again called to see what time that day they were coming and they said they were not coming as they did not have enough work.   I understand the business economics issue, but they apparently had no plans to call me and tell me they were not coming.  Holcomb had not been this way in the past.  I called one of the owners and he was great. He apologized, said he would look into the process, and arranged a date for the next week when it was convenient for us.   They came on the date he promised and did a nice job. That is how you deal with customers and get repeat business.   However, the scheduler and that process needs some work in coordinating with the crews and informing customers if something is wrong so they don't sit at home waiting.  There are too many competitors not to be customer focused, so I am hopeful things will go back to how it was in the past where these scheduling issues did not occur.  The price was as proposed with the exception of a $9 fuel surcharge (strange given the lower price of gas these days).  I asked about this and got the answer it is only $9 and it is on every invoice.  When asked why it wasn't in the proposal, the response was that it should have been.  Not a big issue given the size of the job as it would not stopped me from using them, but it should have been up front in the proposal.   In any event the work was very good at a fair price and based on the owner's reaction I would definitely use them again.

   They were punctual, did a good job, and price was reasonable. However, they didn't have ladders and borrowed two of mine which they left all muddy. I had to clean them.

They were very professional, on time, got the job done in a efficient manor and were done in a couple of hours. They whole team was excellent from the estimate to the team that did the work

The technician gave an estimate but did not go into detail regarding what the specific charges meant. Their work may be excellent but they did not communicate very well.

They are pros!  Their professionalism and skill is outstanding, and the cleanup was fantastic!

Holcomb tree service showed up on time and completed the job as we asked them. They were very professional and cleaned up all the branches and twigs when they were  finished. I have used them before and would use them again

I saw their truck in the neighborhood and noticed that the crew was uniformed and professional and that they had all necessary equipment to to the job right including a wood chipper. Checked the job after they finished and it looked great with zero mess left behind. I scheduled the work for my trees, which included two huge live oaks and a large youpon (as well as trimming a very large crepe mrytle off the roofline). Came out, provided a written estimate and performed the work about two weeks later. Called us out to inspect the job when finished. Looked great.

Holcomb Tree Service are highly rated, they are one of the top companies in the Dallas area. I really appreciate the care that they took of my trees, how beautifully they shaped them and their willingness to try and please the customer. Their pricing is excellent.

Alan Johnson came to our house and gave an estimate for removing the two large dead trees in our backyard.  One of them was within 10 feet of our pool so we were very concerned about any falling branches and the possibility of damage.  He did a great job of reassuring us that that wouldn't happen.  He offered to even cover the pool and spa area which made us feel much better.  They arrived on time and their crew did a great job of taking both trees down quickly and carefully.  They cleaned up all the smaller branches and twigs that had fallen in both areas also.  I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

I have been using them for about 10 years. Ed Phillips is the guy we ask for every time. We will continue using them.

I think their prices are extremely reasonable. I’ve talked to companies that asked for twice as much. The trees look absolutely gorgeous when they are through.

The three man crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. The men moved the patio furniture, BBQ grill, etc. out of possible harm's way, and later moved everything back in position. They did an excellent job on trimming the trees, which had not been worked on in years, and did everything they had agreed to do on the estimate. We were amazed at how well they cleaned up, even blowing and sweeping the roof, the yard and driveway and walkways. Although they were at her home for about three and half to four hours, they were efficient and courteous, and we felt the price ($850 + tax) was quite reasonable for the amount of work that they did. We would definitely use this company again and recommend them!

Their work was fantastic! I highly recommend them. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves as well.

Did nice job of trimming Live Oak in front. Removed Bradford Pear in rear, but broke garden statue in several places in the process and did not inform us. After much discussion, agreed to deduct replacement cost from bill. Still waiting for stump grinding crew to complete the job (2 weeks after tree work was done).

They did a very good job. They know the work. The cleanup is beautiful. When they left, it was absolutely spotless. They did a fantastic job.

Holcomb Tree Service sends you a reminder card when it's time to fertilize. You call and give them the ok, and then they come out to do the work. You don't even have to be home if they can get to all the trees. They are quick, quiet, and neat. These people are professional arborists, so they really know about trees. They also care about trees. The only criticism I can make of them is that they may want you to take better care of your trees than you are willing to pay for! We have been doing the deep root fertilization of a huge red oak in our front yard so that it would get really healthy and it looks great thanks to Holcomb.

I thought the lead man and the team were very courteous and conscientious while they worked. The phone experiences with their administrative staff was good; personable people. The estimator was a nice man. I have recommended them to my mother and even given her number to the office person I spoke to. I feel like we ended up getting a lot of pruning for $300. I would phone them again.
