HILL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

The Hill's came to our home to help us understand how best to correct our foundation problems. They listened to us explain where our issues were and toured our home as we showed them our areas of concern. Mr. Hill was very good at explaining why different things were happening. They did a thorough job measuring the foundation deviations and evaluating the grading and drainage. They provided hand-outs relative to our situation prior to leaving our home. Within a week, we received a multi-page document outlining issues and corrective actions. Overall, the Hill's were very professional, efficient and informative. I would highly recommend using them!

Noticed that our attic roof trusses had clearly been modified by the previous owners when they installed a furnace in the attic, and some framing had been cut to install the attic stairs. Also concerned that some of the framing had become very dry and had cracked. I searched for a structural engineer to inspect the structure at a reasonable cost, to hopefully address these concerns.
I contacted various firms by email, but only received a response from Hill Engineering. The inspection was arranged easily, for a reasonable fee, with good communication by email and telephone.
Bill Hill carried out the inspection quickly but thoroughly and was happy to discuss my concerns completely. Simple advice was given r.e. fixing cracked framing, and I received re-assurance that the roof structure was generally in good condition, with no evidence of any movement that would cause concern. Other general advice on keeping the roof structure in good condition was supplied.
The written report was provided promptly and is very straightforward. I was very pleased to have chosen this engineer.
