Scott and his team were so helpful and informative during my first home buying experience. Not only was it a cross-country move, but I changed employers, and I was applying for a VA loan. A more complicated situation was no sweat for them and they educated me every step of the way. I had worked with USAA previously on a home loan that fell through due to a low appraisal, but I knew after that experience, I would never use them again. I couldn't reach my agent at USAA when needed, I always had to leave a message and wait for a call back. I had to apply for my Certificate of Eligibility (COE) myself, whereas Patty at Highlands took care of it for me. And USAA didn't give me attention like Scott's team. I just felt like another caller, papers to push around. Each time I spoke with Scott, I felt he was working in my best interests. He put me in touch with a fantastic Realtor and discussed different suburbs where I should start my search. He watched interest rates and told me the best time to lock mine down. It was easy to put my trust in him because he always took the time to explain why and how everything worked. Once we put in an offer, the process moved quickly, we talked often and they kept me informed of everything happening.
