Description of Work: Pre-sale inspection. Extremely through and detail oriented. Explained results as to what areas were due to wear and age and what areas were from change in code regulation.

Description of Work: We hired this company to do a home inspection of a house we're considering buying. There was some confusion on scheduling, and they showed up at the house on a different day than we thought had been scheduled. But otherwise service was very helpful--good inspection report, good explanation, answered all our questions.

Description of Work: Greenworks provided our home inspection for a new home purchase. The inspector (Michael) was thorough and professional. He even came out again at no charge to us to inspect the roof since it was raining on the day of the original inspection. We were very pleased.

Description of Work: I will start first with my initial attempt to schedule an appointment. I called and left messages twice on Thursday morning and afternoon (5/28/2015). Green Works did not return any calls. I called the next morning and talked to Harmony to schedule a house inspection for 5/29/2015. This is a house that I have contracted to purchase. My wife and I had the owners permission to be present at the inspection without our realtor. This was communicated to Christine who showed 30 minutes early. I asked a few questions initially but it quickly became apparent that she had no interest in listening to my concerns. I specifically asked her to show me how the remote control worked for the pool equipment and water features. Approximately 30 minutes later, I saw her out by the pool. I walked out there and asked about the remote and she told me that she had already checked the pool with the manual controls. I asked her once again if she could show me how the remote worked since this is an expensive feature for a pool and I was paying her an additional $50 for the pool to be inspected. She looked at me like I was asking for too much. She was extremely curt in her response and reluctantly spent all of 60 seconds showing me how it worked. She also indicated that the pool light would not turn off when the GFI was tripped. I found out the next day that Christine left the pool light on when she left so it was on for approximately 24 hours as the homeowners were out of town. They were not too happy about this. The owners also said she was wrong about the GFI because she most likely didn't understand the pool equipment setup and where the GFI was located. They showed me the control box where it was located (which was adjacent to the electrical outlet that Christine thought that controlled the light) and the GFI in fact worked. Christine obviously was not knowledgeable enough about pools to know this. My wife and I mostly spent our time taking measurements of windows and rooms for moving plans while she did her inspection. Two hours into the inspection, I noticed that one side of the house was warm (78 degrees) and the thermostat was calling for 68. I asked Christine is she had turned it down to 68 when we walked in. She said yes. Since the AC did not appear to be working, I called the owners who were out of town but asked that I call them if any issues came up. During the phone conversation the owners asked me to look at the thermostat and wanted to make sure all the settings were correct. They were. After I hung up with them, Christine says to me, "Are you and the owner working this sale between the two of you?" Not that it was any business of hers, but I told her no and that each of us had realtors. She replied, "I wish you hadn't called the owners because now they will probably come home and then I'll have to deal with them." I think what she was saying is, I don't have time to talk to anyone about this process. I simply explained to her that I was directed by the homeowners to call them with any issues and that I was attempting to make sure we were not missing something. A few minutes later she said to me, "I don't really like the idea that you don't trust that I'm going to do this job right." ???? Where did this come from.? She told me she didn't like me calling the homeowners and that I didn't think she knew how to work the thermostat. She then said, I really don't feel comfortable finishing this job because your realtor isn't here with you (we had the owners permission) and I'm responsible if something breaks. I then told her I thought she was very curt in her conversation and not helpful at all from the very beginning. She also told me that she was the owner of Green Works!!!!! At that point, she asked to terminate the inspection and I agreed. My wife and I left. I don't know how this company made your list but I am not impressed with it or the owner. I wouldn't recommend Green Works to anyone. Christine has somehow forgotten who she works for. In my past experiences, the inspector told me that I was free to tag along if I wanted to learn a few things. I really appreciated this. This was certainly not the case with Christine. She appeared to not want any interaction with her customers. While I'm new to Angie's list, I am very disappointed that this business is on your list. Wow!!

Description of Work: Paul did a great job inspecting our new house. He was able to perform a thorough inspection of the entire property including the pool and termites. His experience and knowledge in his field was obvious and we were completely satisfied. The price for the inspection was comparable to all the other inspection services we considered.

Description of Work: It was a rainy day and Michael arrived on time. He went through whole house for 3 hrs, performed a comprehensive inspection (termite and infrared included). Then he talked to us through items thoroughly. It definitely helped our decision.

Description of Work: They were very thorough, but neglected to point out some areas to which they had no access. Had they mentioned it, I would have gladly moved what needed moving in order for them to complete their work. Instead, they didn't say anything and some of the inspection points were not addressed and the inspection was, therefore, incomplete.

Description of Work: I found Christine here on Angieslist and called her to do a home inspection on a home we had an offer on. Her inspection was so thorough that our realtor was floored and immediately asked for her card so he could use her for others. He couldn't get over how knowledgable she was and how much she did and so well priced. I can't say enough good things about her work!

Description of Work: I hired Dallas Green Works to conduct a full home inspection as well as a termite inspection on a home I was purchasing. Paul was the inspector on the job and he did a great job. When I showed up to review the results, Paul took the time to explain everything to me and to answer all my questions. He made sure to point out the things that were a concern or that he would address and the things that were just normal wear and tear. I felt like he did a very thorough job inspecting the house and making sure I got a good report and a good idea of the shape the house was in. I especially liked the fact that the company uses infrared inspection techniques as well since this can sometimes show things not seen with the naked eye. | |When I had follow up questions a day or two after the inspection, Paul was quick to get back with me and give me answers. He was very open to discussing any concerns I had and said not to hesitate to call him. Setting up the appointment was easy as well and they were even able to move some things around in their schedule to accommodate my option period and deadlines. I am very pleased with Dallas Green Works and would highly recommend them. I would most definitely use them again.
