Final bill was higher than expected. We were charged for paint for the ceiling, but the ceiling was not painted. He said it wasn't in the quote. The quote said, "Prime and paint master bath, owner to select color." It did not say there would be an additional charge for the paint, AND after we were charged $108 for paint for the ceiling, he didn't paint the ceiling, except for the small area above the shower. There was one small sloped wall over tub. He charged an additional $80 above the original estimate to paint that area to match the walls--it was obviously not part of the ceiling.
For shower the quote said, "Remove tile, install hardibacker, tile walls, floor, install new shower, owner to supply tile." It was obvious that we would be charged for the tile from this statement (unlike the statement about the paint above). However, nowhere did it say we would be charged for the hardiboard, etc.
The tile job is sub par. Poor quality. Tiles are not flush with one another, some tiles protrude from the floor and are uncomfortable to stand on. Point at which recessed areas meet tile wall look chipped and are uneven. Some tiles protrude further than others at the stepover. Finish work around the drain is amateur-ish with an excess of grout exposed.

Tile work is not a professional job. As a final insult, the last day he returned to caulk around the tub tile and used a bright reddish brown caulk on beige tiles against a cream wall. When confronted he said he would just remove the top two rows of tiles and I'd never know the difference. He never returned to replace the grout.
We had difficulty coordinating the floor tiles with new shower tiles. Gary was helpful and spent additional time trying to help us coordinate the tile. What he finally brought me, he told me was a brand new tile that the supplier had just gotten in. After the fact I was told by the supplier that it was a tile that was 4 or 5 years old, and was not a new style.
The two different people he used for the painting did quality work. Gary was very responsive when we had plumbing issues related to our changing out faucets. He came out on a Saturday and did not charge for overtime, and his price was more than reasonable for that work.
We went out of our way to be very accommodating to Gary and his crew. We feel we were taken advantage of at several turns and he did a totally unprofessional tile job. We would not recommend Gary to anyone.
"This customer was very easy to work for, I did indeed have a father that lives with my family that had serious health issues at this time and they did work with me on this. My work was done in a matter in which the home owner said nothing to me about their concerns. Issues with the tile work and painting where never brought to my attention. The painting was done due to the fact the area of concern was re-taped and textured. Also, I could have used sheet rock made to be installed in wet areas but my company used Hadribacker and they had the choice. Also, in the shower two niches where added at no additional cost. This added several hours to the tile work."
