The primary issue for this complaint is damage that was done while a new cement pad roughly 10'X10' was poured. The underlying irrigation system was damaged and needed to be rerouted. Franzen Construction promised to come out and do the repair, but kept putting us off for other projects and personal reasons. We ended up hiring a 3rd party to fix the issue for $175.
Other issues:
-- It took a couple months to complete the work. We were originally quoted a couple weeks.
-- The contractor chose the wrong paint color and painted most of the porch before he noticed. It was a big hassle getting them to repaint, but they eventually did.
-- The cleanup of the yard and materials after they were finished was not adequate. We've picked up literally hundreds of nails, screws and other sharp pieces of metal throughout our entire back yard.
-- One of the contractors that worked on the porch had a temper tantrum one day, where he was yelling and threw his tool belt clear across our yard.
Overall, the company ended up not being very professional with their delivery of services.
"In response to the complaints posted by [member name removed], we would like to point out that the patio cover project was delayed due to ice storms and inclement weather beyond our control. As weather permitted, we worked on the project; it is always our goal to efficiently complete a project so we can move to the next one waiting in line. The wrong paint color was purchased after we contacted the home builder who confirmed the wrong color. Because the color was one shade lighter we did not realize it was the wrong color until the paint had time to dry. As soon as we realized the problem it was brought to the home owner's attention. We did ask them to take a look at the color to determine if they would like to keep the slightly lighter color on the ceiling given the house color was very dark and the lighter color may create a more open space feel under the enclosed area. Upon review the homeowner requested we repaint which we did immediately. When the sprinkler issue was brought to our attention we agreed to fix the problem. Again, we faced inclement rainy weather which delayed our ability to repair the system immediately. The homeowner hired a third party who grossly over charged to simply cap a water line where a sprinkler head was no longer needed. It is always our goal to clean up the construction site; we do our best to pick up every nail and screw."
