FORREST CONSTRUCTION

I received a quote from Mark Barry, owner of Forrest Construction, to refurbish our garage. His quote to complete the work was $3500. He subcontracting some plumbing work for another $3500. He also help me with a couple of small projects in my house - widening a door frame, expanding a closet, removing a door and replacing it drywall, installing a couple of shelves in my pantry, installing an attic stair. Three weeks after he started, I received a bill for $11,500. The worst part is that the garage wasn't even close to completion. I paid another $3500 from other contractors to finish what he started. He also left drywall materials in our garage and 6 weeks later told me I owed another $1500+ for those materials, which I should pay to the subcontracted firm, Pemrock. A representative from Pemrock then showed up at my front door demanding payment! It was so unprofessional. Mark grossly underestimated the work and the associated costs required to do the work on my project. He never communicated to me that we were exceeding the original estimate. He also mismanaged scheduling of inspectors. Not only would I not recommend this company, I will make sure I do what I can to advise everyone about my horrible and frustrating experience.
