LI am writing this review to hopefully help others to not get ripped off by Bryant DFW Fence Dr. This nightmare started after Bryan came to give us a bid on replacing our poly gal on our Pergola. He found out that we were going to replace our fence and asked if he could give us a bid on doing the work. He quoted us a price and it was quit a bit higher than the company that we had decided on. He told us he would come down 500.00 on each side. We decided to let him do the work. Oh how I wish I could go back. I could kick myself for hiring him. Bryant’s workshop is in Sunnyvale which is like 1 1/2 hours away from our place and we asked him if it was going to be a problem being that far away and he said no that he did work in Southlake. I asked him if he was going to be on the job and he said he would be there every day. The first red flag was if we could help him out by giving him 3,000.00 to help him out as a job ran long and he needed help to pay his help. Well we thought that we would help him out and that money would go toward paying our job. We gave him that money on Feb 8th. We then gave him a check for a deposit of 7,695.00 on Feb. 10th. to buy the material to get started on our job.We set the date for Feb 19th. Bryant dips the wood which is great but the problem was getting it done. Yes there were some rain delays and I understood that. I can’t tell you how many excuses he had for why the job wasn’t going to start. He said the wood got wet and it had to dry out again. Why wouldn’t you move the wood inside so that it wouldn’t get wet when you knew it was going to rain. We had delay after delay. There was always a excuse. He was sick or the wood was still wet, the wood wasn’t stained, he got food poisoning, he had a old man living with him and it was causing problems with this dog. Two weeks later the job still had not been started. I had to keep contacting my neighbors to tell them that the job would be getting started on a certain day and then have to contact them that no it wasn’t going to get started. It was a nightmare and it made me look like a crazy person. Our neighbors work and have dogs and kids so I had to make sure they were notified when the fence was going to be done. Finally he showed up with only part of the wood and his helper. The first day went great but that was it. Bryant wouldn’t show up and neither would his helper. Finally Bryant gave his helper Jose permission to come work in the job whether Bryant was there or not. Jose had to do what he could by himself. They finally got one side of the fence up but not finished. They worked until 11:30 at night because I told them that that neighbor had large dogs and I have a small dog and I couldn’t have them coming in my yard. Then I went days without Bryant showing up. Jose brought his son to help him because he couldn’t do the work by himself. The excuses kept coming. If Bryant showed up it wouldn’t be until around 3 or 4 o’clock. Jose would have been there since 8 am. Needless to say the rest of my material wasn’t here. It wasn’t even dipped. Bryant brought brought his dog on a Sunday and said the old man’s dog hurt his dogs leg and he was going to have to take it to the emergency room and couldn’t work. I took care of his dog all day just so he would work. Bryant promised me the work would be done that Tuesday. Well wishful thinking. I told him to bring my material and he said no he wasn’t going to be fired off of this job. They ran into some problems with the angles and asked if we could have until Wednesday to finish the job instead of Tuesday. I’m not unreasonable so I said yes. Well here we go again excuses He was finishing dipping the wood. Are you kidding me why isn’t the wood finished yet. I told him after Wednesday I was deducting 200.00 a day until the job was finished and he said okay. That Wednesday no one showed up. I called Bryant and he said he wasn’t going to finish the job that it is too far. I lost it. We specifically asked him that question in the beginning. This job should have taken about 7 days from start to finish and we are going over 1 month. He left us with one side completely open and they have small children and dogs. Now we had to find a company to come finish his mess. The next problem was getting my material that we already paid for. 3 days of saying he was going to bring it and never showing up I called the police and filed a theft charge. He wouldn’t bring my material. Well he finally brought it and guess what a lot of it wasn’t stained and some of it was still wet and needed to dry out. Another big issue was he told me that he bought his material frim a lumber company. Well come to find out he bought it at Home Depot. Another issue was that we were short the some of the top rails. Some of the wood was split so we couldn’t even use it. The company that came to finish the job said that the panels were not good quality and are thin. They had to correct a lot of the work. One of the big issues was Bryant didn’t use brackets in the back fence they just screwed the metal post to the board. You could see the neighbors yard under the panels they put up. ( that was the side they worked on in the dark until 11:30 at night)Bryant told me I was being too picky well the other company that finished the job said no that you shouldn’t see anything under the fence and had to take a lot of panels off and finish them. I will be taking Bryant to small claims court as we are out money that he owes us. WI have since found out that Jose has quit working for Bryant and he called me and asked me if I had found anyone to finish the job. I told him yes I did. He apologized for leaving us the way they did. I am going to post pictures of the way Bryant left the job. This guy doesn’t need to be in business. He is very unprofessional and doesn’t care about anyone but himself. His workmanship is terrible and he is a liar. I hope this review keeps other people from going through the nightmare that we went through.

I was very impressed. Bryant and Kenny were very friendly and responsive. They answered all of my questions and stayed in contact during slight weather delays. The work was done in a reasonable time and at a great price. I would definitely recommend DFW Fence Doctor.

Great product, was performed on time and with no issues. I'll likely use him again in the future for a patio deck.

The fence repair was done in a timely manner however it was not finished and I was told someone would return the next day/week to stain the fence as agreed Despite several promises (at least 5), different excuses and more promises after 2 months the fence has still not be stained. In fact during my last call with Bryant he apologized and guaranteed someone would be out the following week. Still nothing I understand stuff happens but also expect more professionalism- not once have I received a call from them apologizing for not meeting their commitment I would not use again or recommend their services
Response from DFW Fence Doctor
"We have experienced a very large amount of business this year as I'm sure all fence companies have. Our staining division has suffered due to the fact that we've had so many new fence installations. I personally am working diligently to try and catch up all of the stain jobs that have been waiting for awhile to get completed. This job is on my list for completion. Regards, Bryant Nelson DFW Fence Doctor"

Called this company for an estimate for repairing a fence that had been damaged when a trash truck hit it.  Bryant apparently couldn't be bothered to come out and see the damage for himself. Instead, he asked me to email pictures to him, which I did.  I never received any reply/estimate, despite the fact that I followed up with him via email AGAIN.  I guess they really don't want my business, so I'll take it elsewhere.

Response from DFW Fence Doctor
"We received a text message from member on Saturday about gate issues and we responded back promptly. Member was asked for a picture of the gate. It was sent over. After reviewing the picture, it was determined that there was movement in the ground which created this issue. We informed the member of this and that it was not from improper installation but that we could fix it and there would be a charge to do so. We were then informed that member would take care of it as well as our review. When we responded back trying to clarify we said, " are you saying that you do not want us to come fix the gate?", member responded back, "you got that right ace." We were respectful but did not feel as if we should have been treated in this manner."

I HIGHLY recommend DFW Fence Doctor!

Bryant contacted me within minutes of my Angie's List inquiry. I was scheduled for the work within two days. The two-person crew was very professional, courteous and hard-working.

After the work was complete, the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up including hauling away 25 old steel cemented posts.

Thank you DFW Fence Doctor!

Everything I asked for was done. I still have not paid for services rendered due to the time restraints of the vendor. I have offered to pay at the office but have not had a response. I believe this vendor has more business than he can handle. Too bad. I have a growing number of rental properties and I need a reliable fence repair company on my team.

Bryant and his partner did a great job fixing my fence.  He showed up when he was supposed to, got the job done in a timely fashion, and charged a fair price.

Bryant and I made an appointment to meet at 6 pm. He canceled at the last minute and rescheduled for the next day. He visited on a Thursday and said he would get me an estimate by Monday. Monday and Tuesday passed with no estimate. When the estimate did finally come in I questioned why it was so high. Without any explanation or change to the plan he shaved 1000 dollars off the estimate. When I told him I only wanted to use him for the tile and not the pergola, he got short tempered and unfriendly in his emails telling me to hire someone else because he thought working for me would be a problem. The entire experience reflected very poorly on Bryant's professionalism, and the admitted $1000 over-estimate says nothing good about his integrity either.
Response from DFW Fence Doctor
"I am still a small company, and as I continue to try and grow the need to have more people help with estimates is increasingly stressful. There are some days where I field a dozen or more phone calls and still have to try and run my crews. Unfortunately, I cannot get to everyone in a timely manner because I cannot be in four places at once. The only reason I dropped the price down for this gentleman was because of my willingness to do the job. I was taking money out of my own pocket that would have been the proper amount to charge for the work needing to be done. We are not handymen. We are a fence and outdoor structure company and charge fair prices. As for the extra time in returning the estimate, again it is difficult to get everything done on time when there is constant calls and jobs needing to be tended to. I would say that in the future I will not sacrifice my character by giving such a discount because that takes away from my family and my company. Also, we will not quote handyman work because we don't have the time or those particular tools for different trades other than our own. Thanks very much, Bryant Nelson"

First we only had a verbal agreement over the phone that they would come out around two weeks later due to scheduling. Understandable.
Second, one of his guys showed up within a week with everything to build a new gate instead of what we had requested which was to shore up new framing for our old gate that had been chewed up by a wind storm recently.
Third, The guy they sent to do the work shocked me a little bit as I couldn't answer the phone or doorbell at the time of his arrival. What did he do? He got to work. The gate was built and installed in an extremely short time and he even helped me out on a couple of adjustments I needed. I wish I knew his name as he was this really nice, intelligent, friendly, quiet-spoken man that it was a pleasure to speak with.
All in all this experience is about the best I have experienced since I got old and can't do for myself.
Totally recommend them. No reservations.

I was very pleased with the company. One of the owners actually came out to give a price quote. He didn't rush through the process either. Instead he spent a good deal of time discussing options for the job. The work was completed quickly and done well. I would definitely recommend them.

The appointment was set and the DFW Fence Doctor representative arrived promptly and asked appropriate questions while taking measurements.  I received an estimate for the work the following day.  The bid was a fair and reasonable price and we agreed to a start date.  The work was completed in a timely and professional manner.  Workers were respectful of my property and took care to not damage surrounding landscaping or my home.  I have another project coming up in a year and I will definitely contact DFW Fence Doctor for an estimate.

The crew arrived on time.  They worked all day to complete the project. They tore down the brick column and replaced it with wood pickets. They painted the pickets to match the rest of the fence.  You can't tell the column was ever there!  Excellent job!

They corrected an issue with leaning fence posts and found additional fence post that needed correcting and corrected them at no additional charge. They constructed a board on board cedar fence with a cap the total lineal feet was 190. They were professional and showed great attention to detail. Bryant was very friendly yet professional he explained exactly what needed to be done. I now have a beautiful stained fence that should last for many years to come. I highly recommend DFW Fence Doctor and would use them again.

I got a quote of $110 a post during our initial call and I followed up two days later with pictures of the damage to ensure the quote had not changed.  The bid came in middle of the road but I chose this vendor based on his ability to complete the work within 72 hours of initial contact.  He did a great job, my tenants are pleased, and I will keep him in mind with future projects.
