Dallas Remodel & Renovation

Darren remodeled my home 2 years ago. I was very pleased when it was complete. It looked beautiful. He said it would take 4 - 6 weeks and it took 6 weeks. It ended up costing more because of things they uncovered (I think about $11K?). The craftsmanship has not withstood the test of time. 1) My wood floors keep bowing up - he came back out and fixed them once but won't return my texts now. 2) There is a section on lighting in my house that won't turn on. Again, he had someone come out and fix this once but won't return my messages now. 3) The fixtures in the bathroom are loose. I have a small ranch home and he almost completely remodeled it. While he did a good job in most places, it looks like I am going to have to replace my flooring which is throughout the entire house. Now I am going to have to have an electrician come out and get the lighting right and I am not sure exactly what to do about the loose fixtures but I am sure I will figure that out as well. Very poor service after the sale and craftsmanship does not stand the test of time.

This was the easiest renovation we’ve ever done. Darren made this process so seamless. From our first consult, he took the time to understand what we were looking to accomplish and gave us exactly what we asked for. He gave us great advice and let us know what was possible and what we could accomplish, all while staying in our budget. Darren gave us an expected time line and finished early. His team arrived on time every day, and kept their workspace clean. We were out of town for several days of our renovation and had no problem leaving the job to Dallas Renovation and Remodel. They exceeded every expectation. When all was said and done, you would never know this was not original construction to the home. Thank you Darren and Team - we appreciate you all so much!! A+++

Darren is a charmer but should stick to music. We got fed a song and dance about how he knows what a job like ours needs. The subs were messy and pricy. He did additional work which was not cleared in advance and then demanded payment for it. Warranty work took months with many many no shows. He used to tell me all the time “I know you’ll be happy today, but what I want is for you to be happy a year from now when you’re enjoying your home”. Well, it’s been almost a year and the projects are falling apart. Grout cracking and popping out and I’m constantly finding things which show me he took the cheap and easy way out. I can not stress this enough DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. Total disappointment

Great! Everyone who worked was very helpful and responsive. The job was done with professionalism and the finished product looks amazing! We feel that the price wasn’t overwhelming and we got a great result!

Darren and his crew did a great job. We completely remodeled our kitchen and opened it up to our living room. Darren was always around and available. He was very hands-on and responsive to calls and texts. We would definitely use him again for future projects!

It was fine. They delivered the job in the timeframe they said for the amount they said. The job was good. I would recommend them.

The kitchen renovation was massive, they had to remove some load-bearing columns, installed a laminated beam, moved the plumbing and installed all new cabinets, lighting and an island. They did a great job.

It went great. I had a problem with one of the windows a couple of years but he came back and fixed it for no charge.

Went great Darren Wise came in under budget and on time.

Everything turned out better than expected. Darren was a pleasure to work with and he and his trades were very respectful.

The sub contractor’s Darren hired destroyed my home. Darren made endless promises of how beautiful my project would turn out. Horrible job done! They caused so much damage to my kitchen. After the project, Darren told me that the finished product was the best it was going to be. There are items on our signed contract that he refused to come back and do the work. Darren is a member of my church, I thought that I could trust him. I paid him $30,000 and he refuses to come back. I have incurred thousands of dollars of expenses using a different remodeler and trying to fix items on my own. I have permanent damage to my hard wood floors and some furniture where white oil based paint went on. I have holes inside kitchen cabinets and they painted over tape, paper clips, dust, etc...Very sloppy subcontractors. Spending money to fix things that I Do not have the money for.

Although it was a smaller project, it was a high-priority for us and he was flexible enough to work with our schedules and get it done. The crew did a great job, were polite and thorough in their set-up and clean-up, and everything was completed quickly and on-time.

I usually wait to write reviews until the contractor/client 'honeymoon' period is over. I've found that before the final payment is made, service providers seem almost supernatural in their ability to show up on the double when asked to come for a walk-through. However, after that final check has been written, getting them to return a phone call can even be a challenge. This has NOT been the case with Dallas Remodel & Renovation. Mr. Wise's crew came out promptly to fix some small issues and came out again just recently when our new puppy tried to create her own doggy door, thereby chewing up some of the freshly painted wood. I am a relatively naive homeowner and I imagine someone less honest than Mr. Wise could have told me I needed a new 20k deck instead of the less costly painting of my home. I really wouldn't have known any better; however, Mr. Wise is a professional with a distinct sense of ethics. He took the time to tell me the things I should keep an eye on around the house and what maintenance would be needed in the future, He did all this without trying to sell me anything. Personally, I find that a pretty stand-up thing to do. When I had a difficult time in selecting a paint color for my home, Mr. Wise brought his color wheel and collaborated with me on choosing 3 samples to try out. When those 3 colors just did not 'work', he took an existing extra window and had the paint color matched. It was PERFECT. The house color and recommended red address numbers have made the house look so much more modern. It was only when I saw the finished product that I realized how desperately we needed this facelift for our abode. Even amongst the new homes on our cul-de-sac, ours definitely "pops!" I will be using Dallas Remodel & Renovation again in the future because I know I can trust the quality of the work and the ethics of the workers. It is a relief to know companies like this still exist!

It went great! I am an older single woman and was apprehensive starting this project. I called a friend of mine who is an architect and he recommended Darren Wise of Dallas Remodel and Renovation. I couldn't be more pleased. Darren walked me through the process of the project end the educating me on each step needed. I am very happy with the end results of my house. In fact I plan on calling on Dallas Remodel and Renovation for future projects.

It went really well. He sold him self really professionally and high quality work and that is why I chose them. By the end I wish I wouldn't have picked him. He made us aware that his wife was an attorney and tried to tell us he was going to file something with the court. There were various email arguments and he work was only average at best. Over promise, under deliver.

I submitted a project request to Angie's List on 7/16/16. I received a telephone call the same day from the business owner, and an appointment for a cost estimate was scheduled for 7/18/16. I paid for half the total cost on that day. The work was scheduled to begin on 7/25/16. The job was completed on 8/5/16. Darren, Byron, and especially Cesar (tile man) put in countless hours on the job. As it turned out, the labor to install the glass tile I supplied was more than originally anticipated. However, Darren did not raise the cost. I paid separately for all tile and related supplies and the lighted exhaust fan, and that amount was NOT included in the cost of the service. My bathroom looks beautiful.

Everything went pretty smoothly and they helped me with moving the furniture before and after. Throughout the project the house was left clean and ready for me to have a restful night.

Both projects went smoothly.  Darren oversaw the kitchen work, using a very proficient electrician, plumber and plasterer, until it came time to install the cabinetry and trim, which he undertook himself.  Likewise, he personally installed the doors and crown moulding.  Although these jobs were not technically difficult, it was clear that Darren is an excellent carpenter and is fastidious in getting projects completed to the complete satisfaction of his customers.  Further, Darren is well read and an excellent conversationalist, so that having him in our home for extended periods was a real pleasure.  We would certainly have him back for additional remodeling projects when we need them.
