Locksmith Service
The dispatcher did not identify the company when answering the call. Dispatcher said the charge would be $55 for service, plus labor, but refused to discuss the labor rate, calling their technicians "independent contractors" who set their own rates. Dispatcher promised a response time of 25 minutes. The technician arrived in 60 minutes in an unmarked car. Technician stated that he had called my cell phone five times before reaching me on the sixth attempt; my phone had no record of unanswered calls. Technician was unable to pick the lock and unable to drill out the lock cylinder, instead breaking his drill bit. Technician finally destroyed the knob and removed the cylinder to open the door. Technician did not clean up any of the debris. Despite being an independent contractor the bill was presented under a "USA Locksmith" letterhead. Technician was neat in appearance and polite.
