CY COZART CO

Cy is a very organized contractor with good subcontractors.  Prices were in the middle of the 3 I secured.  Cy provided useful insight as I was finalizing what I wanted/could afford.  He definitely knows the costs of materials and is honest about the quality he can use given a specific budget.  When we agreed on the budget, Cy kept to it as much as possible.... no major "surprises".  Cy is a good communicator between the homeowner and his subs.   He did a laudable job of scheduling the subs and making them adhere to the schedule.   He had his cabinet man out early -- that man refined my ideas and generated schematics (both from ceiling and looking head on), which helped me make sure i'd included all the bells and whistles i wanted.  His granite fabricators were good and the man who selected and installed the tumbled stone backsplash was the GREATEST ever. I think the demo crew could have sealed off the kitchen, its vents/registers much better, wet the old tile surfaces continuously to reduce dust and kept the area much better vented, as i found dust on the upper floor at the opposite end of the house. Painters' work wasn't up to snuff and they left several windows unlocked every day (we were living in the house during the redo!).   Cy has a good sense of humor, which helped a lot during the inevitable "trying times".  Unlike other contractors I've hired, Cy was onsite 1+ times/day, continuously accessing what was being done and on the phone constantly getting what he wanted done.
