I called Walker and told them my air conditioner was running hot.  They sent someone out and he recharged the unit.  The unit was only 2 years old.  2 days later my house was once again 85 degrees, so they came out again to charge it.  Obviously it had a leak, so  I asked the serviceman to have them call me concerning the warranty and fixing the practically new unit.  At first they told me labor wasn't covered, but it was.  Then I never got calls back from them.  I called them the third time on a Sunday - my house was hot again and she promised to call me first thing Monday morning.  I did not hear from her, so I called and left a message.  I still didn't hear anything.

I had to contact another air conditioning service company, KG Air Conditioning,  to come out.  Mr. George, the owner not only returned all my calls, but came out immediately and determined I had a leak in my coil and possibly a bad condenser.  He said that he would register with Goodman and honor the warranty.  Walker would do nothing.  Then Goodman got involved and would only pay Mr. George 2/3's of his labor, so I paid the remainder.  The local Goodman distributor would not work with Mr. George at all, and I ended up paying over $600.00 to have my 2 year old unit recharged 3 times and repaired.  Goodman in Houston did refund $150.00 of the $400.00 recharging amount I paid.  The ladies in the Houston office were the most helpful of anyone at Goodman.  So, BEWARE of Goodman products and especially their WARRANTIES, and don't expect Walker AC in Dallas to back up any warranty they sell you.  I will never use them again, and sorry I called them in the first place since they appear to have sold me an inferior unit for top price.

Installer came when expected, but only one man for what was obviously a 2 man job. He had to call for more help on removing the old unit from the attic and installing new one. There was some difficulty in transporting objects in and out as it was in a very small attic.  I wasn't too upset with the places where they nicked and scratched door frames, etc., because it was a tight fit. The problem came later when I discovered water dripping from the unit through the ceiling and light fixture directly under it. Of course, by then I had already paid for everything and they seemed to try to blame the problem on condensation, which was ludicrous. The woman who manned the phone gave me a hard time and it took quite awhile to speak to someone who actually would help me. He figured out immediately that they had not installed a "P" trap to carry away the draining water from the unit so it was just leaking through my ceiling. It took some time, but eventually, he came out and repaired the unit. Not only was I stuck with 2 large water stains on the ceiling, but they had also damaged the disappearing attic staircase so that I couldn't even open and close it. I kept calling about getting these items repaired and kept being reassured they would be, but, here it is an entire year later, and no one ever did anything, no one would return my calls, and just generally blew me off. I eventually gave up on them, but will never use them again.

The insurance company approved the work; from that point on they ignored our called. They insurance company got involved, so they made an appointment----and still didn?t show up twice.

They're terrible. My experience with them was a disaster, an absolute nightmare. The technicians were incompetent and had no idea what they were doing. They stayed at my house until 11:30 at night one time and they hadn't fixed anything. I had to run them out. It was a zoo and I can't say anything good about them at all. I understand the neighbor lives in my neighborhood, which I didn't know at the time.

They were really great and explained everything. They showed us everything that would be done and explained different things that we could do. They were very neat and clean when they were here. They got in and got out pretty quickly. The price that they had charged was probably the lowest. They were very competitive and we would use their services in the future too.

The process took three days. I knew it would cost big bucks to replace both of my units, so, I very deliberately timed my selection process and installation to take place during the off-season. Before deciding on Walker I asked for written bids from three contractors (representing two component manufacturers), all of which were highly rated by Angie's List and the BBB. I selected Walker because of the sales rep?s (Cory Walden?s) willingness to work with me on component selection and pricing ideas that would keep the cost down, yet meet my load and efficiency requirements and allow me to secure various energy savings rebates. The sales rep was sincerely interested in addressing my questions. He was easy to talk to and came across as a very honest and trustworthy advocate for my cause. I later found out that the sales rep and most of the office staff and the installers on my job were long-time employees (20+ years). I think this says a lot about the company, especially its owner.I thought Sam Orinoco and the other installers, Armando and Luis, did a great job and, believe me, I looked over their shoulders pretty much the whole time. I hope I didn?t get in the way, but I love DIY projects and this helped me to get a little ownership in a very big one. I also learned quite a lot about the new HVAC technology which I find fascinating. The guys were very patient with me. They answered all of my questions. They were very careful about protecting my floors and furniture and they cleaned up their mess every day. They even did some extra work that wasn?t part of the deal (like help fix my water heater, etc.). I highly recommend Walker A/C, including their sales reps, office staff and installers.

I have gotten to know the gentleman who has come out for decades to do the work. They are good about responding to any special circumstances. I have had a good experience with them. I will continue to use them in the future.
