The first time I called, the receptionist said that a manager would have to call me back to discuss it.  I thought that was strange since I just wanted to set up an appointment for a service call.  I waited two weeks.  Nobody called.  I called them again.  I asked the receptionist if they did service work on their awnings.  She said yes, but somebody would have to call me back..  It's been almost two weeks again.  Nobody called.  So if you're looking for a company you'll be able to go back to when your awning needs service, look somewhere else.  If it's this hard to pay a company to come service their product, I can only imagine how difficult it would be if I was asking for warranty repair.

They came out in the morning and took measurements and left awning material swatches. I had a quote on the job that same day. They emailed me a drawing of the job with measurements and price. They were able to utilize the existing farm and just replace the fabric. Once we chose the fabric they came out, removed the existing awning and took it back to their shop. Within a few days they were back with the recovered awning and installed it. They did a good job ith the instalation and cleanup.

Sent the provider a message via the Angies List website. They never bothered responding. Either they don't check their messages, so then why bother to have the option, or they don't need the work.
Response from CLANTON QUALITY AWNING

"Please accept our apologies! Apparently you sent your message during a time when we had a server go down and we lost some data. This is not our normal way of doing business. Again, we are sorry for your frustration. If you are still in need of our services, please try again. You wont be disappointed!"

Workers were on time, extremely courteous and professional. They clean up well and even put all the items back on my patio for me. they gave me advise on several issues that I had not considered prior to installation, gutters placement and so forth, without making me feel they were trying to sell me something additional. They performed without smoothly and finished in one day.

I first used Clanton's back in 1989, at my first home in the and quot;M-Streetand quot; area. When selling the home, I wanted them to re-cover the original awnings they installed, so they did 2 jobs for me at that home. In 2004, I needed a small awning over a back door at a different home, and because of my previous experiences, I called them to do that install. Each time, I was completely satisfied with their work, installers and pricing.
It may or may not make a difference to anyone reading this review that I have done a bit of contracting work as a and quot;house-flipperand quot;, so have both a fair amount of knowledge and understanding of sub-contractors. While my experiences with Clanton's have been excellent, sometimes contractor's drop the ball...they respond slowly or fail to call back, so I will often take a negative review or two with a grain of salt...particularly if there are several positive ones. I have even experienced frustrating or lack of response with my stable of long-time sub-contractors. In almost all instances, there is a good explanation. Of course, if problems continue, I move on to another sub.
I have had good experiences with Clanton's, and while I am sure there are other reputable awning companies out there, I see no reason to and quot;re-invent the wheeland quot; and try some unknown entity when it comes to awnings in the future. As a matter of fact, I just referred them to a roofing contractor friend, which is what brought me to their site and prompted this review.

This experience was an ordeal. I called them the very first business day after the snow storm ripped the old awning. The salesman told me they were six weeks behind and they required a deposit of nearly 50% of the price before they began although they will not even begin to make it until after six weeks. I was not comfortable with the idea of being out $200 just to wait for my turn and asked if it was enough to just get my credit card number but not charge it until my turn came up. The salesman acted as if I was crazy, insulted me, and hung up. Since this company made the original and I was not on Angie's List at the time, I decided to swallow my pride, call them back, and place the order through the same rude salesperson because I was not given any other choice. The awning took a lot longer than promised to be completed and it turn out to be loose and in the wrong color trim. By this time I was already a member with Angie's List so I did not feel I had to put up with this less than expected product or service. I told them that this was unacceptable and threatened them to give them a poor rating and start Angie's Dispute Resolution Program. The assistant to the owner of the company called me back at this point. She was defensive of her product and her company. I explained to her how I was treated and how poorly the product satisfied my original order. She proposed to redo the order properly and told me she would take care of this project until completed. They finally delivered and installed the awning as it was supposed to be. While I am happy with the final product, I don't think I should have to go through all that aggravation in order to get it. The replacement awning took a lot less time (days) to be created and installed. I had told them that if they had so much work, maybe they should hire and train more people to take up the slack on times like this. She was insulted when I suggested this and told me to mind my own business. Thanks to Angie's List I now know that there are many other awning makers in the area and that I do not have to put up with this attitude. Their only saving grace is the final product. I am sure others can do a quality product without the aggravation.

CAVEAT EMPTOR! I wanted an awning, and Clanton sold me an awning. Nobody told me it would be mounted into unbraced Hardi-Board, and also directly into the masonry / brickwork. The recent record snowfall weighed so heavily on the awning that it literally stripped the screws out of the Hardi-Board / masonry. I contacted Clanton about repair, and they said, "Nope, we don't do that." I'm glad they don't do that: both the repair carpenter and the repair mason looked at me like I was crazy when I told them the story. So, after an ADDITIONAL $1,400 later (for repairs), the awning resides at the side of my house, my masonry and Hardi-Board is repaired, and never, NEVER again on the awning. I realize that I'm partially culpable, and that's why I didn't award any "F" grades. Again, I wanted an awning, and that's what I received. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

They are great; very friendly and professional. The price was good. It was a lot lower than the other company we checked out and the price is right!

First I emailed them after reading on their website that they service our area, and waited a week for them to contact me back. They never did, so I called them and was told they no longer service our part of Ft. Worth. It would've been nice if they would've let me know initially, as I intended for them to do the work and waited for them. It's disappointing for them to have such poor customer regard.

I chose this company because of the Angie's List reports, but I had a lot of trouble getting a call back to set up for a quote. Eventually when a salesman did come out to quote I was impressed with the number of choices in fabrics and the salesman was detailed in his explanation on how the awning would be installed and how much sunlight it would let through. The salesman gave me a 6 week turnaround time (which seemed very long, but he attributed a backup to recent storm damage creating a lot of work for them). The installers showed up a week earlier than I expected, without calling, but my job was on the truck as an "extra" for the day. They got the install done in less than an hour.
