CAM MOVERS

CAM's website when I booked them had a coupon and offered reusable boxes if they were returned. This was positive. In terms of the moving crew, they arrived at 9:20 and finished the job at 2:20 on a hot summer day. They were careful with my furniture and with putting items into my new house. They were nice, and in terms of the actual work they did, I would probably rate them as the best movers I have had in 20 years, and I've moved a lot and used a lot of movers. HOWEVER...after 5 hours work, they produced an invoice for 6.5 hours and told me drive time was involved. This had never been stated to me when I booked on the phone. When I went to call CAM about this, as I'm waiting to get through, the guy tells me that fine, "she's just going to not bill you for it anyways," and he gave me an invoice for 5.5 hours. (I realized after the fact, it was still more than the actual time.) This seemed like a shakedown on the part of the driver's part, that they were going to pad their time after my job or something and I'd be paying for it. I called the CAM office to arrange for a box pickup and I complained about this. I didn't really get any explanation or anything other than the person was going to pass it along to the owners. (The person I spoke with didn't even confirm or deny that they charge for driving time, but she did say that 45 minutes was not what it took to get where I lived.) Because of the shakedown and customer service on the follow up phone call, I've given them a C on certain categories in their rating.

The experience was fantastic! I was very pleased. It was horribly hot, and they worked for 8 hours. They took short breaks for lunch and came right back.
