Bad Experience! I was not impressed with the carpet install. Freyed and improper cut of seams. Nicked up the wood trim in multiple rooms. I contacted the company to have someone come out to make corrections. CC Carpet sent out unprofessional carpet installers to repair. DAY LABORERS! One installer spoke broken english, so he only understood half of what I was saying. The other two looked like they were homeless and picked up from the corner for day labor. Pants falling down, holes in their shoes. It was bad! I have heard that they hire day labor, and I would agree, by the looks of the crew that showed up. One guy worked on repairs and the other two hung out by the truck outside. Job was not getting done, and so I contacted CC Carpet, they were of no help. As I was on the phone with the CC Carpet Rep, the guys took off. Worse and most unprofessional
experience!! They never came back to correct the issue! Shotty job!
That is just the beginning! The backsplash and granite in the kitchen and bathroom granite install looked shotting when they were done. Backsplash was not smooth. Deep impressions, wrong cuts around the outlets. David Irwin, the sales rep, sold the job. He was not patient. Ready for client to make decision, so he could be on his way. Talked client into a easy, less detailed backsplash. Just tumbled marble, with with no further design details that client originally want, When job was done, the client wished they would have insisted on what they wanted, and not let David put in his two cents, to keep the job cost down for CC Carpet. At the time of install, the drywall was ripped and damaged in multiple areas. CC Carpet just left....And again I contacted CC Carpet. Spoke to corporate offce. Finally got them to send out their top sub contract painter. He comes out, acts like he is going to make it look like new again. Nooo, looked horrible. Cheap, poor quality quick fix. It was just one thing after another.
Oh but wait, before the painter was called out, the CC rep was supposed to come out and assess the situation. He was supposed to look at what needed to be repaired so he could call the right crew in to repair that day. I asked for a heads up before the guy arrived that morning, 30 minute courtesy call before arrival. They gave me a window, I was at the Dr Office, and receieved a voicemail message. They guy told me he was at the house. No pre-call. So when I got out of the Dr. Office within 10 minutes and called him back, he said he just left and he has another job to go to. He cannot turn back. He obviously had worked the appointment time in, so he had the time blocked out alread . Just lazy and inconsiderate!! NO EXCUSE!
CC Carpet got their money and ran!
I suggest you Run, Run, Run! Horrible experience!! I do not recommend - Not At All!!!
Never again!
A Service manager finally came to the house to review the work and sent a different crew two days later to remove the new wood flooring in one of the rooms, relevel and installed new flooring. This crew did a great job at no extra cost to us. This should not have happened. Way too much time in between installation and then finally repairs.
The next person came out to measure and was very prompt and professional. However, he measurements were way off. The workmanship was sloppy; all of the sink cuts were off and the reveal uneven. The counter top lip varies by over half an inch in place. They disconnected the dishwasher and it has never operated correctly again.
I had a hard time getting to talk to someone after the job was started, but they did have someone come out to look at the dishwasher. The first time, the person said everything was ok (but there was no water going in). The second time, the person said it was ok (but there was/is no hot water). They said there was nothing else they could do, so we called a plumber who fixed the problem.
They sent someone out to correct the kitchen sink (I had to show them the template that comes with the sink to cut the reveal), because this was the most obvious and I could live with the lavatory sinks. I made a huge mistake in letting them correct the mistake in the house instead of uninstalling the granite and doing it outdoors or at their shop.
The house had to be cleaned from top to bottom 3 times because dust from the granite was EVERYWHERE, including our lungs. For months the family suffered with bronchial infections from the dust cutting our throats and lungs.
The kitchen and baths look good if you don't look too hard. What started out looking like a deal ended up costing so much more due to the poor workmanship.
The carpet installers removed the old carpet and padding, move the furniture as needed and returned it after installation the day after the flooring was installed.
CC Carpet came out to my home with samples and measured for the estimate. They were the best total price for the job. They delivered! I am happy with the results and will use and recommend them.
Within two years, however, large dark spots began to appear in the wood flooring, particularly in the Dining Room and Hallways. We assumed that it was an unfortunate consequence of a slab leak that we had had the previous year and had repaired. So, we hired a private contractor to come in and replace the hardwood flooring in the half of the Dining Room where the discoloration was worst. Unfortunately, the flooring that C. C. Carpet had used was difficult to find (after two years!). We had to special order it--from C. C. Carpet--for around $600. Once the new flooring was installed it was fine... for about four months. During this time, discolorations had occurred in the flooring throughout the house... in the Master Bedroom, Hallways, and Office and, after about six months, the discoloration came back on the Dining Room Floor as well.
We consulted with another contractor and our insurance agent to see if something could be done. After removing a sample of the flooring and seeing the mold and mildew that is now growing under the flooring, both told us that it has always been standard and usual--before any wood flooring is ever installed over a slab foundation--that a water/moisture barrier is always rolled onto the foundation and allowed to dry before anything is glued. I wish I had known this before--but of course, I'm not in the business of installing flooring!
Now, only four and a half years later, we are having to replace all the hardwood flooring in our house... hopefully this time correctly... but at a substantially higher cost because the first item on the agenda is removing the old hardwoods and the glue on the untreated foundation.
I wish C. C. Carpet had done it right the first time. Their unprofessionalism will cost our family a great deal of money.
