I'm licensed as a commerical applicator and have an I.S.A. certified arborist on staff. Arrived & told me that trees were in peril & needed treatment. Since they were so big I couldn’t afford to not believe him. Another tree service said it was not an emergency situation. I should have waited. I don’t have the kind of money he charged me. I should have known better.

It's a scam!! We had Mr. White come and tree one of our large oak tree's that was looking sick. I refer to him as Mr. White as he has no PhD in anything other than slick promises. He arrived and within 1 minute said awe yes, it's bugs and guaranteed he had the remedy, and could save the tree for a low, low price of $1200.00. within 1/2 hour they had drilled a hole and pours something in plugged the hole and were gone with the assurance the tree would be healthy in the spring at the latest. Well spring rolled around, and the tree was looking even worse. This time I was able to locate [*** Link removed ***] which is the directory for all LICENSED Arborists!! I had one come out and look at the tree, he diagnosed it immediately as oak wilt and said he had never seen anyone try to stop oak wilt by the method Mr. white had used. We now have removed the tree and had the licensed accredited arborist tree the other red oak that is susceptible to oak wilt also. Believe me the treatment the actual arborist was completely different than that of Mr. White. FINAL NOTE: If you have a sick tree refer to the website I attached above and hire a real arborist, which was a 1/16 of the price to actual know how and if your tree can be saved. PS: I asked Mr. White what his doctorate was in, he responded it was a nickname he had been given years before, that in itself should be warning enough!!

I called "Dr. Bob" ( Dr , advertised on his truck, was not in quotes so, I doubt he is a PhD) about the insects and disease ridden trees on my property. We talked on the phone and he agreed to come out to evaluate the trees. He gave an impressive and apparent expert presentation. It ended up that he was expecting me to commit to a verbal quote of $4,000 service, without a written quote, to be paid by cash or check (not credit card because the bank took too much from him) and without my having a chance to talk to my wife or to think about such an investment, overnight. When I said that I am not making an impulsive decision on $4,000, that I would have to discuss it with my wife, and that i will call him tomorrow to schedule the service, he said "Well, I am ready now. I'm not coming back." ...... And that was the end of the conversation. Which puts his so-called reputation in doubt!! When he left and I started thinking about the conversation and lack of common business practices he was not performing (such as written quotes, scheduling the service, no credit cards, no offer to show insurance or bond), I was glad I didn't get mixed up in a potential, very expensive scam, despite his self proclaimed ( I didn't check personally) A+ rating at BBB.

If you have diseased trees and need someone to treat them, do NOT use Bob White or BW Insect Control & Tree Care. I chose
him because he had an A+ rating with the BBB and professed Angie's List 2011 & 2012 Super Service Award.  He sprayed my trees and the overspray stained my light colored stucco 2-story house a brown color (9.2.14).  I called him and discussed the damage, he told me I should power wash it (9.30.14) that it was probably the iron in the chemicals - I am not sure why he would suggest that I power wash it knowing that I am a single female parent.  I had a handyman and painter look at it. I called and ask him to come and look at it and maybe he could try to power wash it. He refused to even come see the damage. When I insisted that he either refund my money ($4,000-Ck#3071) or fix it, he hung up on me (10.14.14). NOT A VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. Very disappointing! How can this company possibly have a A+ rating or win any service award?

This was a Big Deal purchase - $199 for $400 worth of services.  When we discussed what we needed done, the business seemed disinterested in the job.  In our opinion, this was more fishing  for a larger value  project.  We were refunded for the Big Deal purchase.

"The customer called me for service. She is located in Cypress, TX AND I am located in Dallas, TX. the $1000 quote includes travel expenses and overhead to complete the job. I advised her that it would be economically more sound to hire a local business to handle her business.the $1000 is not the price just for my services but for services and travel expenses. Cypress is located 250 miles from Dallas so the round trip is 500 miles. I believe the price I quoted her was very reasonable. I do not perform free estimates. I am still available to travel anywhere in Texas but this includes travel costs. I have 38 years experience in this business and have countless repeat and extremely customer. Pkease check my past reviews."

Provided root treatment for three trees (1 red oak, 1 live oak & 1 silver leaf maple ) to both root feed the trees and kill infections inside the trees - particularly the silver leaf maple.
The Silver Leaf Maple is about 26 years old and I was about ready to cut it down.  Bob White convinced me to allow him to treat the tree  September 2012 but told me it would talk until the spring (2013) to see the difference.  Both of the Oaks are substantially healthier and greener than similar trees on my street.  But the Silver Leaf Maple appears to be rebounding very well, and if I can save this very old tree, then I will be very pleased and surprised.  And right now - it looks as though it will do well.

He treated my tress.  I declined additional services.  Offered to cut down a tree for $ 800.00.   I got this tree cut down for $175 for Alpine Tree service.  I think he tries to take advantage by claiming you need services than homeowners cannot know if they are true.

"The quote I gave the customer included treating the trees for insect infestatiom and saving the tree. The man claims the tree was healthy looking and I was misleading him and overcharging him for the services requested. If my assessment of the health of the tree was incorrect or misleading then why would he contact Alpine and have the tree cut down and removed? Obviously the tree was in poor shape if he had to remove it. My price was reasonable for the services requested. Also to cut down the tree of this size for $175 was unbelievable. How many people do you believe have had a tree cut down for that price? To remove a tree of that size and to grind the tree stump down is an additional cost ranging from $200-$300 just to remove the stump. For the services requested the quoted price was very fair and reasonable."

I purchased a Big Deal using this firm.The individual I talked to on the phone was combative and wanted nothing to do with the job I described. When offered a refund from Angie's List I took it.

I did sign up for the deal but chose not to use this company and got the refund on my purchase.   The owner called me shortly after I had completed the online purchase and he did come to my house location to discuss my tree service needs.  He indicated that the cost would be much more than the $400 value I had purchased.  I had no idea regarding tree service charges and took his word  that the prices he was quoting were in line with what other tree service companies and individuals charge. ( I did not call other listed companies for quotes)   I'm sorry I don't recall his name but he was kind and seemed knowledgeable and experienced.  I did agree with his assessment of the condition of the tree that was needing service (20 yr. old Bradford Pear) which was that because of the recent damage to the trees branching (because of the weaknesses in the trees structure) the tree would not likely look good after trimming and therefore should probably be cut down.  I was not ready to make that decision at that time nor was I able to afford the amount he would be charging.  A few weeks later I learned of another company, ArborWise Tree Service, a man and his wife, and they offered to remove both Bradford's that I had for considerably less than the quote from B&W.   I decided to have them do the job and was pleased with their work.   The grades given for responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism are in regards to the gentleman's quick response to my initial inquiry.   They obviously have no relation to his work quality/performance since I didn't hire him for the job.

As soon as I purchased the big deal I received a call from the company's owner. I described what the issue was with my tree, and he wanted to come to my house right then. I said no, and made an appt for the following week, he never called back or showed up. The cost was going to be an additional 800.00 on top of what I had spent on the big deal. I promptly received a refund one I called customer service and described what took place.

I asked him to please help prevent my trees from dying as he explained they were all infested with various insects.
He told me it would cost approximately 2,000 dollars.
When he finished he ran my credit card for 4,150.00 and said he had to do more deep root work than he expected.
He promised I would not loose any trees and be would return to re treat the yard in three weeks.
He refused to return when I called and several of the trees that were treated have since died.
