Made sure they cleaned up after and even extra care to ensure they go all the nails.
Even had a Quality Inspector come by after complete to make sure I was Happy .
The roofer showed up on time, nice young guy, he informed me that the charge would be $350 and that it would take 30 minutes, I was really shocked at the price, and he had to call his manager to get me a better price. The manager said they would knocked it down $50, but they would not inspect the rest of the roof or glue anything else beside the reported shingles. I agreed even I was convinced it was way too much.
The roofer was done in 20 minutes, and the shingles looked like a match. By the time the roofer left, the builder's roofer returned my call and offered to do the same work for $150....
Entire roof re-shingle estimate was highest of 3 estimates I got, but referral from a trusted source and customer service I got was top notch. Due to cost, I asked for a repair estimate only. I was then very pleased as their repair estimate was the cheapest of the 3 repair estimates I got , not by much, but indeed the least expensive of them all.
Since I already felt good about this company, getting a very fair priced estimate resulting in me hiring them for the work. The work was performed quickly after I signed the estimate, the workers were timely and showed me what they were doing, explaining their process then completing it in a timely manner.
The insurance process took a few weeks, but Aspenmark helped me understand the process and assisted with filing a supplement request to the original insurance estimate to cover shingle cost increases. Once authorized, Aspenmark performed the work as promised and did high-quality work.
The work was initially scheduled for a Thursday and Friday. No workmen on Thursday. I called mid-morning and they'd been held up. But they could start on Friday and finish on Monday. I asked them to do it Monday and Tuesday, and they agreed. Materials were delivered to our back driveway on Sunday--and again on Monday AM (The driver with the extras was persuaded to take them back). A crew showed up Monday AM and began working. I looked for a project manager or supervisor--none. The workmen were nice, seemed to know what they were doing (although my Spanish is only rudimentary, and I was never sure we were on the same wavelength), but I was concerned, for example, about the placement of our wind turbines, and no one seemed sure of the details. Besides which, they hadn't delivered enough of the turbines.
About ten hours after the project began, after several phone calls to Jerod, the project manager, Corey, showed up. Of course, he sat in his car at the curb with the a/c running, talking on his phone, and I didn't even know he was there until a couple of hours had passed. Continued miscommunication with the workers, and Corey stayed on his cell phone--saying he was trying to getting things straightened out (like their sending two different colors of wind turbines).
The men worked until almost dark, and after I requested it they swept the driveway so we could safely put our cars in the garage. They returned the next AM and went to work. Corey said he'd be there early. He came two hours after they started work, and again sat in his car, a/c going, and this time with a sun shade over the window to protect from the sun! One worker chopped the hole for the wind turbine right over a structural support beam in the attic, and I had to get Corey out of his car to check on it. He made a call and said, "It's okay."
The workers cleaned things up well and left. We had a serviceman come out to re-adjust our satellite dish (which they ahd removed). Four hours later, after he replaced a sensitive part that was damaged when they left the dish dangling against the side of the house overnight, we had reception. By then another worker had shown up with the last two wind turbines (right color), installed them, and after a few phone calls hauled off the excess material.
I'd had trouble seeing any supervisor around the job, but just a few hours after it was complete, Corey showed up for payment. I'd asked four or five times for a breakdown of how my deductible could be handled, and was always told that Corey would have those details. He knew nothing. I called the office and worked out details, putting the balance on my VISA.
Did they do a good job? The finished roof looks great. Did I feel like I had to be constantly aware of what was going on for a day and a half? Absolutely. Do I think Jerod was a salesman and Corey's main job was to collect? Seems like it. Would I use them again? Probably not.
