+ -1 moreThe painting was started. Tim had $7800 of our money, but had not paid the painters. Aside from that lost money, we paid the painters personally ($3100) to insure that they would be paid and that this project would be finished. ASAP Painting and Remodeling refuses to release any of their "insurance" information or take any responsibility for the loss. It looks like the company, and Lora Huff, as owner, are not licensed, bonded or insured and certainly not certified by BBB.
Description of Work: ASAP Painting and Remodeling was contacted via their website to provide an estimate for multiple projects. I chose that company because of the claim of being "Better Business Bureau" affiliated and "licensed, bonded and insured." Lora Huff called the next day to send over one of her contractors - Tim. He came over within the next few days, gave an estimate for interior painting, deck repair, window replacement and some other smaller projects. Within a week some of this was started and a total of $7800 was given to Tim on different days to cover approximately 1/2 of the estimate. On about day 3 of the start of some of the work, Tim was arrested and extradited to Louisiana, where he had been starting home building projects, collecting many thousands of dollars, then fleeing. In other words, ASAP Painting and Remodeling had hired an unlicensed contractor who was a felon and sent him into our home. No background check, no references.
