I contacted Jose, the owner, requesting 2 experienced movers to load my 24' box truck with some heavy furniture.  Jose quoted me $75 an hour.
I had some minor difficulty understanding him, and as respectfully as possible asked if the movers would both be fluent in english. Jose then asked, "Do you not like Mexicans?".  I explained that I have no problem with Mexicans, but it was necessary that I be able to easily communicate with both movers.
The movers  said Jose told them they had to be paid $150 prior to starting, as well as signing a very one sided agreement that pays me 60 cents per pound for damaged furniture.  I was under a time restraint and complied.  I understand this agreement is standard when companies do the moving, but it didn't seem reasonable given that they were only loading.
The movers that showed up were fast and professional.  They broke a leg off the least expensive of the three pieces of heavy furniture (an armoir), but were honest in pointing it out...accidents happen.
When they were finished they charged a $29 "trip charge" that had not been previously disclosed.  They insisted they charge this fee to all their customers.  Never the less it should have been disclosed when I asked Jose what they would charge me.
I'm leaving out a lot of extraneous details.
Had it not been for the belligerent, threatening tone of Jose this would not have been such an unpleasant experience.

Jose, Mitch, and Victor did an awesome job with our move. They were on time and hustled through the entire day and that was with it being 105 temperature outside. Great price, great care with my furniture, and great professionalism. I will use these guys for my next move. Todd L
