Working with this contractor turned out to be a nightmare that has continued for more than two years now. I am still trying to collect on the court-ordered judgment. I have paid fees for the constables in two counties to find the contractor... who has changed the name of his business from Roni's Remodeling to All-American since our project. Definitely would not use or recommend this contractor again. Much of the problem results from my own trust in this person.
Description of Work: Hired this company for overall contracting and renovation of my home, from floors to walls to ceilings and roof. The project took roughly two months and seemed to progress well enough. However, things began to fall apart almost as soon as the project ended. The contractor -- Roni Ohayon (who uses several alias names) -- left immediately for an extended visit to Israel, his homeland. Here is a summary of what went wrong: 1. Premium quality BAMBOO FLOORING installed but quickly began to buckle throughout due to contractor's failure to use purchased vapor barrier coating. (Refused to honor warranty. Took to Small Claims Court and won judgment. Dallas Sheriff currently attempting to locate contractor for collection service.) 2. ELECTRICAL: Several recessed lights installed began to fall from ceiling because electrician mis-sized the cuts for installation, requiring ceiling replacement or patching. One electrical outlet in bathroom was installed without connection to power. Wall must be torn out to locate power source. 3. SKYLIGHT: Ordered and paid for 24-inch x 48-inch skylight. Got only half size (24x24-inch) because contractor could not find proper size. 4. INTERIOR PAINTING: Did not used provided blue-tape provided for edging, resulting in bad edges at adjacent colors. 5. OVERALL sloppy and unprofessional throughout. Perhaps due to contractor employing "pick-up" workers each day. 6. Contractor refused to provide written warranty or itemized accounting of out-of-pocket expenses.
