ABC BURGLAR GUARD ORNAMENTAL

I contacted ABC via email and phone (left voicemail message), seeking a quote on security bars and doors for our home. After a few days of no response, I again contacted the company and left a message. The owner called me back shortly thereafter and was extremely informative, providing a lot of helpful advice, and I had a really good feeling about going forward and doing business with his company. We set up a time for him to come to our house (he himself specified, "after church on Sunday, around 1:30"). We arranged our weekend schedule accordingly, and when Sunday rolled around, we waited. And waited. And waited. I called the company's office number (only number I had), and nobody answered. I left a message, trying to find out why nobody had shown up at our house. No response. On Monday, I emailed the company and stated that while we were uncertain what had happened on Sunday, we were still very interested in doing business with ABC. A few days later, Billy Crouch emailed me and apologized, stating that "someone" should have called to let us know that nobody would be coming out as scheduled "due to the rain." He asked for a second chance to obtain our business, and requested that we set another appointment for the FOLLOWING Sunday at 1:30. I emailed back immediately, confirming that date/time. The next Sunday came, and again, we set aside our usual routine to make time to meet with the ABC rep. 1:30 came, 1:45 came, 2:00 came ... nobody EVER showed up to give us a quote, and nobody EVER bothered to call to let us know they would not be coming. While ABC may have a good product and "talk a good talk" initially, their customer service is reprehensible. The fact that they apparently cannot be bothered to pick up a phone and give a potential customer the courtesy of a call is just mind boggling. We have since contracted with another company that demonstrated punctuality and professionalism. Avoid ABC at all costs ... I can't imagine what might have happened if we'd actually given them our money!

We belong to a Neighborhood Crime Watch group. Surrounding streets were reporting A/C vandalism (copper theft). My husband and I were talking about getting our A/C units caged, but were put off by the prices we were finding. The final straw, though, was having the house across the street hit by what appeared to be a team (the same vehicle was described in previous police reports). The head of our Neigright hborhood Crime Watch found ABC Burglar Guard and negotiated a discounted price. We called them out for an estimate, which came in $200 below what other companies were charging. We gave them our order on the spot along with a deposit. They missed their original delivery date and were a little hard to get hold of, which had us concerned. Turned out it was all good - they were having trouble getting materials from their local supplier because the manufacturer for the steel they use was shipping most of their material to Japan to rebuild after the March 11th earthquake. They apologized for the delay and lack of communication and were able to get the cage to us within a couple days of the original date. The cage is a work of art. They designed side bars that are driven 5' into the ground at opposing angles to ensure the cage won't be jimmied and lifted off. The mesh is heavy so it can't be pried apart, but it's large enough to allow the unit to be serviced correctly. They gave us three different paint colors to choose from and provided high-quality Master key locks. These are commercial grade locks that would have to be cut off with a welding torch if we ever lost the keys. The owners, father and son, were honest, personable, and very concerned with giving us a finished product that would last. We just had one of the A/C units serviced and the technician asked if we had an extra business card for ABC. He commented that he'd seen a lot of cages, but none compared in quality to ours.
