I compared offers from a total of 7 roofing companies. James DeLaGarza at A-1 was one of two who seemed primarily interested in fixing everything I needed done. Most others seems geared towards squeezing every possible cent out of the insurance company for themselves. The work itself was first rate. I really appreciated their policy of waiting for enough dry weather to actually finish... (especially when watching the exposed wood-composite roof of two of my neighbors get rained upon because their contractor was apparently more interested in schedules than the home they were working on).

Sometimes James was difficult to get on the phone but he always, without fail, communicated via email, text or callback within 2-12 hours, mostly quicker. The crew showed up timely, did great work, cleaned up daily and were done on schedule. They were all very friendly and courteous and respectful of us and our property. A-1 also timely delivered all the paperwork I needed for the insurance.

Problems after the sale though got pretty bad though. His workers put pallets on both of my AC units, a brand new one and an older model. The new one was smart enough to stop on its own before it overheated but the older unit just kept running and running until the compressor blew. < When I asked if he had insurance, this was his response (shortened): "I find you to be an opportunist at the expense of insurance. .... I'm disappointed in your latest endeavor (to claim damages) and greed is a bad thing. ... Here we stand weeks later and you want to attempt to explain that the very old system, just now dying, was related to events weeks ago? I'm sorry, but you are being an opportunist and I won't stand for it. I'm disturbed by your behavior." The worst part was that his response was strewn with lies. Another really bad part was that I took the pallets off of both AC units when I came home from work the first day and told the workers not to do it again. On the next day I got really upset when I found pallets there again. All in all, my dealings with this company changed completely AFTER I payed the complete work. Now it seems more like a 'Take the money an run!' kind of experience.

I am very pleased with the service I received from A1 Roofing.  They came out first to inspect my roof and confirm I did have hail damage and then again when my insurance adjuster inspected the roof to make sure they would cover the claim.   On the day they did the job, Tirso and his crew arrived on time, completed the job professionally and did a great job cleaning up.  And they put up with my dogs who wanted to help. There's a lot of roofing companies out there but I would recommend A1 Roofing as professional and easy to work.

A1 Roofing worked with us, listened carefully to our requests and completed every service agreed upon with total professionalism. The work crew were punctual, polite, unobtrusive, and worked hard to complete the job in a timely manner. They were diligent about cleaning up after themselves. The owner personally oversaw the quality control, and made himself totally available to us, rapidly responding to our enquiries, and even contacted us about the follow-up gutter replacement when he was scheduled for surgery! We have been completely satisfied with the result and would certainly use A1 Roofing again should the need arise.

I avoided having our roof replaced for years. After a recent home addition, I finally met with several roofing companies to discuss a new roof on our home addition and an assessment of our existing roof. I was impressed with A1 Roofing from the moment I met the owner, James Young. He explained the estimate clearly and thoroughly and met with my insurance adjuster during the inspection. When reviewing the insurance report, Mr. Young noticed that the insurance company had not covered the drip edge. After a quick phone call, the insurance company apologized and included the drip edge in the coverage.
I then chose, with Mr. Young's assistance, the type of shingles and ventilation that would work best with the style of our home. Work began a few days later and was completed in one day! The owner arrived promptly with a crew of experienced workers. My house was built in 1921, so the existing roof had several layers of shingles and wood shake. I had to leave midafternoon before the work was completed. I was shocked when I arrived home! The yard was spotless with no evidence that workers had been there all day. The roof, ridge vents, and flashing look wonderful; attention to detail and professionalism is evident in A1 Roofing's work.
I highly recommend James Young and A1 Roofing. I only wish I had done it sooner!
