Description of Work: Repaired our home treadmill and elliptical. Provided additional information to us about how to avoid future problems.

 + -1 moreI had been trying for 6 months to get a stepper fixed that I bought on ebay, going back and forth with the seller in new york state, and multiple misteps, etc. When they finally gave up on their former service provider and found A1, things changed in a hurry. Nick came out, made a diagnosis and quickly fixed the device (on returning a second time after ordering the proper parts) (which save the folks in new york many dollars as it ended up being a couple of small electrical parts needed rather than the more expensive parts they had sent. In fact Nick told them how to just replace the brushes in the alternator rather than replace the whole thing, let alone replace the 400 dollar computer board that new york thought was needed.) He was proficient, pleasant, and deeply honest saving both me and the the new york seller many dollars.)

Description of Work: I brought in a tread mill speed control circuit board for testing. After a long period of time, Steve called indicating that it was bad and needed to be replaced, that he would order one from ICON, the manufacturer. That took several weeks. I picked it up and signed a credit card sales ticket that clearly stated "all sales final" (my first mistake). When I installed it, the treadmill responded not as well as it did before I delivered the circuit board. Before I took the part out for replacement, the treadmill had some motion to it but would not exceed a certain speed and would cut off. The new board did nothing. There was no movement at all. I called the store several times and left messages for the owner to return the call. No response. I called again and spoke to an employee who said that the owner was extremely busy but that he would deliver the message. No response. I wrote Diners Club (MasterCard) about the matter. The owner wrote back a letter simply stating that "All Sales Were Final" and that I signed the receipt (which stated all sales final) and that it was posted on his wall. A.) In my opinion, I purchased my own circuit board. The owner never presented a sales slip that ICON says goes with every order. B.) The $40.67 means a lot more to A1 Fitness a/k/a A1 Treadmill Service than it does to me. It is also known as Home Fitness Warehouse. C) NEVER purchase anything where "All Sales final" D) The public should be aware that this is a place they need to stay away from.
