A-Star Heating & Air

I called to get one of the two ac units at my church fixed. I told the repairman that I wasn't sure which one wasn't performing well so check them both. He quoted me over $4000 to fix one and over $8000 to fix the other. This did not make sense, so I called another company, who fix one of the units for a few hundred dollars, and said nothing was wrong with the other. I spoke to someone who said he was in charge at A-Star about this and he demanded I pay over $1000 for the service call. That was several months ago and both units are working fine. Today I get another call from A-Star wanting to collect for checking the systems. No one at the company seems to be concerned that the technician completely misdiagnosed the problem. I don't know if he was dishonest or unqualified, but the manager backed him up and refused to discuss it.

They have been real good. They came out and was working on a zone controller system problem. There was several trips. It was about $79 plus the part that was about $350. When the issue was resolved, it was under $500. I don't think they are the highest but I don't think they are the cheapest. It was good quality. I have used them many times.

I called to schedule an appointment & get an estimate to see what work needed to be done; Jimmy came out to inspect the old system and gave us his recommendation (very professional individual & knowledgeable). Prices are competitive and reasonable for this line of work which is why I gave them a rating of "excellent" for pricing. We compared these guys up against three other quotes but the knowledge that came with them is what encouraged us to hire them. Other prospects were trying to push a bigger system than what I needed & I thought that bigger meant better until Jimmy explained why an over sized AC unit was not a good idea. The techs came over the following day and got to work; they were punctual, professional & detail oriented. Overall great experience! Alex, Jimmy, & the techs that came out to complete the work, you guys are amazing & I will be recommending you to whomever needs AC or plumbing services in the future. Thank-you!
