 + -1 moreThe money we spent on staging was the best money we spent getting our house ready for sale. Because our house looked so great, our Realtor suggested listing at a price about $10,000 higher than typical market value in our neighborhood. I gulped and agreed, thinking we'd be on the market forever in this economy. Within the first two days we had 3 showings and received two pre-approved offers. Both higher than our asking price. We received an additional offer from someone who only saw our house on the internet. So, by my estimate, the $180 I paid for staging resulted in getting nearly $15,000 more for our house than I believe we would have otherwise. A very good return on our investment!
Description of Work: Brenda came in and rearranged our furniture and told me exactly what to do to stage our house before putting it on the market. Our Realtor paid for the first two hours, and I hired her for two more so she would have time to put up faux drape panels in our formal dining room. She took care of everything from what color to paint the walls to how to make our bathrooms have a spa ambiance, how to artfully arrange books, ornaments, and space. Even in cases where I already had stuff on display, she just seemed to tweak it, and it looked totally different (and better).
