In short I would highly recommend Robert O’Neal and 78 Fence to anyone who needs one built or repaired. He did what he said he would do, when he said he would, for the price he agreed to. This is what you would expect of any responsible contractor and that he is. Beyond that, of the many companies I contacted for my project he was the only one who truly listened to my specific project needs. Through that communication I was able to get the fence I wanted, not just what I thought I would have to settle for at a price I could afford. He was on site to check on job progress and support his crew several times during the install and has proven to be a valuable after the sale resource. Great work and reasonable price. I appreciate that Robert took materials from our existing gate to build us the new gate. It not only saved us money but is more environmentally conscientious!

Gate worked well and fence looked very nice.

I had previously used them for an electric gate and fence in front, which I have been very pleased with. They did a beautiful job. The fence looks great. At the end, they did a fantastic job of cleaning up. I am very happy with them.

After getting several quotes I went with 78 Backyard Concepts for 2 reasons: 1) They had done an excellent job on my neighbor's fence and 2) the owner seemed the most competent and knew exactly what needed to be done.

Unfortunately the owner had an accident and was incapacitated in the middle of the job. His wife picked up the slack and with little information to go on was able to get all of the supplies delivered with little delay.

The crew did an outstanding job on both the retaining wall and the fence.  We've had several neighbors give us positive comments on the fence.

I would recommend them to anyone needing a new fence.

This is a check in review after 8 years. The fence is still in beautiful condition. The quality of the installation has ensured it's durability. We're re-staining this year for the first time.

I was very pleased with 78 Backyard Concepts. They were prompt and professional from start to finish. They may not have had the cheapest quote, but their proposal was the most detailed, and I knew exactly what to expect. I just felt at ease with the individuals I met and felt comfortable that they would deliver. And they did!

Our gate motor stopped working, it turned out the power supply had failed.  We also had noticed that the gate was very noisy and rolling sluggishly, so Robert recommended replacing the wheels.  When the repairs were completed, the gate worked much more smoothly and quietly.

Robert was extremely helpful. He walked us through the issue with the old gate and discussed the different types of openers that he suggested and why. He helped us pick the most affordable opener we could find and was prompt in scheduling the work. He and his team worked to get the adjustments just right and customized to our needs.

Gary and Robert were informative and helpful. They were great about working with the site and its particular challenges. The price was aboout what most of the others quoted, lower than some. I went with 78 because I liked working with them.
Guillermo and his crew spent plenty of time planning their strategy before beginning and were fast and efficient. My neighbors were impressed with their professionalism (and the results), as was I.
The fence is beautiful and sturdy. They added connections to my neighbor's fence without being asked. I strongly recommend this company.

The owner returned my call the same day I called for an estimate.  The owner met me at my home to measure and evaluate the area.  He made notes on what I wanted and also offered advice on how best to arrange the gate so that it would keep my dogs contained if for some reason the gate was opened.  He was very professional.
I asked that the gate be installed by 8/1/2014.  The owner kept me informed of their progress while the gate and the fence were being made (this took a couple of weeks - which we expected). He and his team arrived on time with all the tools necessary to get the job done.   It took several hours.  The workers carefully leveled the fence and the gate so that it would operate correctly.  The fence is much heavier than I expected.  The welding points were smoothed and painted. 
The installation team was very tidy.  They cleaned up the area after installation was completed,  It look really nice.
I would use these guys again without hesitation.
NOTE:  I called three providers from Angie's list and this was the only company that returned my call.

Went well. Any construction is a mess, but the week investment was worth it. Wall looks great. Fence looks great. Wish I had done this 10 years ago so I could enjoy it longer.

Best gates I have _ever_ seen.  Replaced the posts, gates are steel frames on steel hinges with a wood veneer.  Very careful with the cleaning and staining as we have shared fences in our neighborhood.  Covered everything on both sides where needed.

They did it while I was at work. I liked it. The owner was nice. There seemed to be an overspray on the ground right on the fence but they told me it was normal. I would recommend that company. I think that they did a good job.

Robert and his team was extremely professional. They were very responsive and open to our concerns and feedback. We worked with Robert to get exactly what we needed and he walked us through the process and once installation was complete he was able to give us a quick lesson on how to operate (change settings) and maintain the opener so we would not have any issues. I would recommend this company to any one looking for fence and or gate work.

Kept everything clean. Onsite guys were polite and quiet.

Competently installed gate at my home and my neighbor's home.

I submitted a design to Robert for an unusual Fence / Art project.  He did not flinch about it at all and submitted a very reasonable bid for the construction.  His crew started on time and his lead worker, Miguel, communicated very well with us throughout the process.  The construction was top-notch, and I really appreciated the extra step of powder-coating the steel gate frame, bolts and strong ties.  There were a couple of small additional items, as is usual, and they were handled in the same no-nonsense manner.  I would not hesitate to use Robert and Miguel again.  Great work ethic and attention to detail.  Fence

It wasn't the cheapest price quote I got, but I was confident that the quality of their product would meet my expectations, and I was not disappointed. The project was completed in the timeframe they promised.  Robert was very responsive to my emails and phone calls and answered all of our questions.  The crews who came out worked diligently, and even went the extra mile to fill in dirt where there were gaps between the fence and the ground (due to erosion in the yard0.  I would use 78 Fence again when for future projects like replacing our deck.

They were very quick to respond.  I got several bids and theirs, even though not the lowest, was very reasonable for the anticipated quality.  I was not disappointed, the quality was as expected.  The team of installers were polite and answered questions as needed.  I wanted a change to the gate latch and they were very responsive and pleased me with the change. 

They were helpful to work through a few changes and were able to install the fence very soon after we agreed on the proposal.

We received a number of bids from various qualified contractors, and although Robert's bid was not the lowest, it was very competitive, but definitely the most thorough and well supported. Once selected, the project went great and timely, even in the face of poor weather (ice storms) and christmas and new years holidays. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, which included a high degree of customization and creative design that needed to be applied. Although a concrete retaining wall was in the bid, Robert had some limestone left over from another job, and used that on the wall for no extra charge, but resulted in a much better looking product than we could have ever expected. A number of challenges arose during the project by nature of the custom type of work, and Robert took care of every challenge very well. I would recommend to others or use Robert's services again.
