Our pool (backyard oasis) was just completed by CCP and we could not be happier. The whole process went very smoothly. Brian came out and listened to what we wanted, Leanna created the 3D and the project began. Joe, our Project Manager, did a FANTASTIC job of keeping us informed on what was happening and when it was going to happen. The crews that they used were all very good, hard working and cleaned up afterwards. Leanna listened to my wife during the plaster and waterline tile selections so that my wife got the results that she wanted. Kyle came out to do the "pool school" and could not have been better at taking time to explain everything. The backyard oasis is everything that we wanted. This team did a fantastic job. The pool dig was February 21st and on April 11 was pool school. Could have been faster except we went out of town the week that would have been the plaster so they couldn't work that week

The work went very well. They had to jump through a lot of hoops because of the City of Houston, but they pushed through. The pool looks great and we've had no major problems

I was impressed. These group of contractors were nothing less of satisfactory. Great quality of work and efficient with their time. I talk with buddies of mine and their experience with their build, the horror stories. I am so happy with Cypress Customs and I am a believer you get what you pay for.

Cypress did a wonderful job and we couldn't be more pleased. They stayed on budget and on time. Crew foreman was always available to address any questions and designer Mark was hands on throughout the whole process. While it was sometimes difficult to get immediate responses, that has to be due to the fact that they stay busy. We worked for weeks planning and making adjustments to get exactly what we wanted and Cypress delivered.

After getting a few estimates, we decided to go with Cypress Custom Pools for our pool build. It was a great experience working with their team of professionals. Matt was available, responsive and kept us apprised of how the process was coming along. The rest of the team were great and we met our deadline goal despite heavy spring rains during construction. I would recommend Cypress Custom Pools to anyone in the Cypress area looking to add a pool. We love our beautiful new pool!

First, the installation of the pool was professional and on time. Any minor defects were quickly addressed. As anyone who has a major construction project knows, there will be little things that require attention and Cypress Custom Pools is about DETAILS.  They get everything right - from the final touch-up to the 35 year pool industry veteran (Phil) who helped with the pool equipment and chemicals.  I probably spent 2 hours with him over 2 visits and felt well-prepared to manage the pool myself.
But the true mark of a great company is not just when things go well, but what happens when they do not.  Houston summers are so hot that we wanted a white plaster surface to keep the temperatures down.   (Some colors of the other surfaces such as Pebble Tech / Pebble Sheen will make the water hotter).   Unfortunately due to unknown circumstances from quality issues with the gunnite (the cement on the bottom), the plaster surface became badly stained.  This could have been the fault of the sub-contractor or an issues with rain/water.   The end result was over the summer, the pool surface was so poorly stained it looked like a 10 year old pool.
Cypress Custom Pools reminded us that regular plaster is not officially warrantied however they wanted to keep our experience positive and uphold their outstanding reputation.  As a result, Brian the owner offered, at their own expense, to remove the plaster and upgrade to the light blue Pebble Sheen product at only the original UPGRADE price from the base plaster.  This meant that Cypress Custom Pools had to absorb the cost of plaster removal and the base price of the surfacing and only charged us for the upgraded materials at cost.  They even allowed us to retain a unique accent trim that is not typically included, again installed at cost.  The final result is great - we are very pleased with the pool and regularly receive compliments on the design and features.   I can give an unqualified positive recommendation to anyone considering this company to design and install their pool.

The pool designer came over and we discussed what I wanted to do. She parked in the middle of my driveway, so I could not park at my house when I arrived. She came across as haughty and somewhat arrogant. We talked about various options. I gave her copies of what the architect had drawn. She said she would design a pool based upon the space, and building line restrictions. What she gave me in terms of design was not what I asked her to do and the price was higher than anyone else for a smaller pool that was not what was specified or requested. I just did not like her attitude. Could be a great pool company, but I did not have a positive experience with the designer and I did not find the price to be good compared with other bids.

Removed existing tile.  Installed new white plaster and new tile.  Provided new deco-seal in expansion joints in deck.   General clean up around pool.

Where do I begin? We began our process of building our dream pool/spa with contacting 5 different contractors. Initially I had it in my head that Cypress Custom Pools was going to be the most expensive, but given their reputation I had to at least see for myself. My wife drew out what she had visioned our design to look at and made it available to all 5 contractors. Gary Curiel (our sales guy) was the only one of the 5 that did not take a picture or a copy for further reference. I double checked to make sure before he left that he did not want to take it with him, and he assured me that he had a great memory. When we got all 5 designs back, Gary's design was without a doubt the only one that made ours jaws drop. That says something about his ability to pay attention to the customer and the details on what they are looking for, especially since he was the only one that did not have a copy of my wife's drawing. It was at that point we knew which builder was our front runner. We set up an appointment to make a few design tweaks and to ultimately get our pricing. I was pleasantly surprised to see their pricing right in line with the other bids I had received. It was a no brainer as to who was going to be building our dream pool.
We began construction and you can tell this company has their stuff together. Each phase of the project was lined up and organized with very professional sub contractors from day one. They give you a packet on excavation day that tells you the order in which things are going to occur, who your construction manager contacts are, and any additional information and instructions you will need along the way. The only thing I could recommend that wasn't done in this process was a little more communication from the project managers as to who was coming out to the property that day and what was going to be done. I do not know if that is feasible, and it probably isn't since this is a busy time of the year for these guys but would have been nice. We lost a few days due to rain during construction, but it lasted 33 days from excavation to fill up, which is incredible timing. I truly believe this is where the company being organized came into play. I know of some builds that started weeks before mine, and are still not completed as of today (May 27th) due to the lack of organization and pull over the subcontractors from other companies.
Gary and the project manager were very attentive and responsive to every question or concern I had that popped up during the process. Everything was taken care of or explained to satisfaction.
There were no surprises or "gotchas!" in the contract. The pricing stayed exactly the same as what we signed up for except for some last second upgrades that were our choice. I mention this only because it was a fear of mine that once we started things would pop up and throw the budget all out of whack. This may happen with other builders, but not Cypress Custom Pools. If you make no adjustments to your contract, you will pay your contract price with them.
I want to personally thank Gary and his team for a job well done. He went the extra mile to give us exactly what we wanted in a very professional manner.

Cypress Custom Pools did a great job building our pool.  The quality of the pool is excellent.  Their staff, especially our salesman, Brandon Richards and our project manager, Gabriel Curiel, are knowledgable, courteous, responsive and professional.  I've heard horror stories about pool builders from friends who have built pools, but I did not experience any negative issues using Cypress Custom Pools. I would recommend them to anyone interested in building a pool.

First of all, I want to comment on the extreme professionalism displayed by Gary and the entire staff at Cypress Custom Pools.  I first contacted Cypress Custom Pools back in July when we went under contract on our new home in Cypress.  Gary called me immediately and based on our brief phone conversation and a copy of our survey he designed a unique and beautiful pool which complemented my house very nicely.   We were still living out of state at the time, but when we finally arrived in Texas I visited the showroom where Gary spent over an hour with me tweaking the pool, deck, pergola and outdoor kitchen.  It was fascinating watching over his shoulder as he drew and redrew different shapes and materials to create a truly custom design.  
Once we actually moved into our new house, I contacted 4 other custom pool builders based on recommendations from friends and neighbors.  I found that the pricing was comparable between all 5 of the pool builders and all 5 have stellar reputations.  I liked 2 of the pool companies very much but decided to choose Cypress Pools based on the responsiveness and professionalism of Gary and the creative design of the pool.  I then spent another hour at the showroom with Gary further tweaking the plan to what I expect will be absolute perfection!  
Gary submitted HOA approval for us and began work the very next day after I received my written HOA approval in the mail.  It is now day 5 of our project and we already have the pool dug, framed with re-bar, gunited and the plumbers are hard at work digging trenches and laying pipe.  I feel that the project is moving along very fast and I have daily contact with Gary or the construction supervisor from Cypress Pools.  Two of my neighbors recently had their pools installed by Cypress and both are very happy with their finished project.  One neighbor is an engineer who directly involved himself in the entire process and the fact that he is pleased only reinforces my satisfaction!  I will write an update once the entire project is completed.

Everything went great. They did what they said they would and completed the project on time. I was pleased with the work.

Brandon, our salesman was awesome. He worked with us to keep costs down and make small changes as we went along. Gabriel, our foreman was also wonderful. He was always available when we had a question or needed information on timing of sub-contractors. All the subs were very professional and the quality of their work was excellent. All work was done in a timely manor, with uncontrollable delays only due to weather and our home owners association's slow response time. Matt's Custom Patios did the work on the outdoor kitchen and their work was also high quality. We had a miss-communication on the roof design on day one and it was corrected immediately.

Designed & built pool, outdoor kitchen (w pergola), & bathroom/outdoor shower. Overall very positive experience. Kristy in office was proactive in correcting the couple of items that needed to be fixed. Pool is beautiful--We're happy with the results.

It went excellent. It was timely, detailed, and excellent quality of the work with an excellent project manager.

Everything was great.  At the time it seems a bit crazy with everything that is going on in your yard.  We were first time pool builders and had heard horror stories.  Taking your time and doing your homework on who to hire paid off for us.  The team at Cypress Custom took great care of us from start to finish.  They listened to what we wanted and patiently worked with us.  We now have an awesome pool / spa combo and great covered living space to enjoy. 
The job went smoothly and quickly.  The project manager was on top of everything and very responsive to any questions / concerns we had.  All the specialty crews were courteous, hard working individuals. 
The story is short because the job was well done.  We would recommend CCP to anyone with no reservations.  Excellent company, great people.  They took good care of us.

I contracted this work in the winter time, presumably a slower time of year for pool contractors.  Each phase of the project was completed quickly, there was some lag time in between phases, either due to weather or scheduling challenges.  Evidently, some people don't like to work when the temperature is below 60! 

During the construction process, I did have one problem with a sub contractor who had crew members bringing their children to the site (this was work on a Saturday).  I immediately called my contact person, and the problem was corrected, leading to the release of this sub-contractor.  This change delayed slightly, but I was happy with the change.

Everything came together very nicely.  Since Cypress handled all of the work, they were able to schedule the contractors so that they did not interfere with each other and worked together.  For instance, the footings of the arbor were set a day before the decking was poured.  Had I been required to contract out an arbor, it would have had to be built after the pool was finished, in which case I would not have had the stronger footings placed, and it would have dragged out the time for the finished back yard.

Additionally, they worked with me on including the little things, without additional costs.  One such item was to run an additional gas line from the spa heater to the area that I BBQ. 

All post work touch-ups were handled quickly.  The only downside comment I have was regarding the pool start-up.  Cypress Custom works with Tex-Sun pools.  Tex-Sun provides pool service to new pools free for one month.  For a salt cell pool, salt is added 30 days after start-up.  I did not sign a contract with Tex-Sun, so on the last day of Tex Sun service, they activated the salt cell but added way too much salt to the system.  I was constantly adding fresh water for over a month to balance the system to proper levels.  For the cost of the pool, and the $150/month from Tex-Sun, I would like to see 2 or even 3 months of free pool service for new pool owners. 

Other than the Tex-Sun, issue, everything is great.  By the way, local Tex-Sun store is great, they are very helpful with recommendations.

Painful. The creative part went well, design of the pool was great, kept up with us throughout. Once we signed contract, it was awful. They would not start on time, did not answer calls, unresponsive to phone messages, MIA for long periods of time. They kept blaming each other for work not done and nobody took responsibility to follow through. They blamed sucontractor for work not done also. They commited to finishing by specific date and it did not happen. We had to be after them ALL the time. It was a real headache.
