ARMANDO'S PAINTING & REMODELING

I had a contract with him, and we both signed it and agreed to it. We had a set start and end date. About a week into the work, he started asking for more money outside of the contract. He told me that he had to buy more materials for the house, even though he also seemed to quote me higher prices for the materials than he needed to. When I went to give him the second payment, as we agreed in the contract, he became very upset, and threatened to not finish the work. From that point on my daughter spoke to him because I did not want to talk to him anymore. When we gave him the final payment he once again became upset because he felt like he deserved more. He never cleaned up after himself, and one of his workers used my water to bathe himself outside. A couple of them also drank beer in my yard after one of the workdays! He had another job at the same time, and he obviously didn't care about the work he was doing on my house. He was very unprofessional, and it took him one full month to do this job, which is 2 weeks longer than he initially stated. There were days he didn't come, and some days when he did come, it didn't seem like he did a lot of work. He also says that he has 2 people working for him, but there were well more than 2 people working on different days for this project. I will never use him again.

He is trustworthy, covered furniture, cleaned on a daily basis. After he finished he had to come back to repair some cracks in the cabinets. He was not very happy about it and gave us some attitude. He did show up and fixed it. He has a pushy personality and sort of full of himself.

Armando's was on the ball with getting the job done. They did an excellent job prepping for the work. He brought his wife in to clean up and she did a really good job. The problem came in when they thought I had a water leak. I told them that there was no leak as it was just leaking through the old grout in the shower but they knocked some holes in the wall to see if they could find a leak. They never found a leak so they patched the holes up in the bedroom, bathroom and laundry room.

Armando arrived on time. He pressure washed all of the places very thoroughly and even finished in the rain. That was important since I had 15 guests arriving for Easter that afternoon. It is the best pressure wash that I have ever had .

Armando is a lovely man, prompt and personable. He used a professional carpenter for this job, plus two either untrained or apprentice-level young men. Armando himself was present for the job, but mainly was involved in picking up the cabinets, purchasing supplies, and caulking. The job began at 9 and ended at 5. The carpenter was present for about 2-3 hours, during which things moved fast and correctly. However, the 2 assistants were on their own for the remainder and had problems. Many unnecessary holes were drilled in the cabinets, the surface of one cabinet was marred by carelessness, and the matching filler boards were installed backwards, so the roughly finished backside is showing (very noticeable at night when the lights are on). Armando needs a carpenter who is more committed to detail. I think I would hire Armando only for non-carpentry jobs in the future.

ARMANDO WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. NOT ONLY DID HE RESPOND QUICKLY TO MY CALL, BUT AFTER TALKING WITH ME ABOUT THE WORK TO BE DONE AND COMING BY TO SEE THE HOUSE, HE PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE WRITTEN ESTIMATES OF THE COSTS. ARMANDO SHOWED UP WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, WORKED QUICKLY AND QUIETLY, AND CLEANED UP DAILY AFTER HE FINISHED. THE WORK HE DID WAS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY -- HE IS DEFINITELY A PERFECTIONIST. NOT ONLY DID HE DO THE WORK I ASKED FOR, BUT HE SUGGESTED SEVERAL IMPROVEMENTS THAT I HAD NOT THOUGHT OF THAT TURNED OUT TO BE GREAT. I AM ABSOLUTELY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS AND WILL CALL ARMANDO AGAIN WHEN I'M READY TO DO ANY OTHER PROJECTS -- LARGE OR SMALL.

HE PRESENTED TRULY GREAT WRITTEN REFERENCES. HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES AND LOOKS FORWARD TO PLEASING HIS CUSTOMER WITH HIS WORKMANSHIP. PHOTOGRAPHS WERE AVAILABLE OF SOME OF HIS COMPLETED REMODELING JOBS. ARMANDO IS PLEASING TO TALK TO, RESPONSIVE, PROFESSIONAL IN MANNER, PUNCTUAL, AND IS VERY NEAT WHILE WORKING. HIS PRICES SEEM TO BE REASONABLE.
