+ -1 moreThree men came to move the sofa up steep stairs , turn sharply at the top and precisely maneuver into the correct location. It was a very congested work area. They got the job done quickly and without a snag or smudge anywhere. The sofa is upholstered in a jacquard fabric and they handled it with care. They were very easy to work with and made a big juggling act look easy. I will be sure to ask for their help should I need to again.
Description of Work: I needed a very heavy queen sleeper sofa moved upstairs. According to my measurements it was just possible to get it through the door of the room where I wanted it. I had worked out exactly how it was to be done. The movers listened to my idea and agreed that it would work.

+ -1 moreOverall, my experience was positive and felt that they did the right amount of work for the price, They worked h****** a hot, steamy weekend and accomplished what needed to be done in a reasonable amount of time.
Description of Work: Mr. Martinez and his team did a fine job in moving us out of our 1st owned home after 13yrs of living there. Although we had moved a lot of our stuff out to storage already, there were still a lot of the 'big' items left. We were the 2nd move of the day so they arrived 40mins. later than anticipated. They got started quickly and were professional in ensuring nothing was damaged. I was a little dissapointed that I was not told in advance that I had to pay cash (due to it being the weekend?). This seemed a bit shady, but it all worked out. I also was not aware that they charge additional fees for moving 'special items' like big screen tvs. Maybe I missed it on the website. In the end he did not charge me.

+ -1 moreThey charged me $70 an hour. They moved me to a new residence. I called them and that guy gave me a price but I seemed to have more information than the guy I talked to. He said that it would cost $30 more if there is a particular kind of stairs and luckily I don’t have stairs. They only discussed the price and they did not say anything unless you asked them. If you are going to move for the first time then they move you in just one day. They people who came were punctual and they were fast. So overall they were satisfactory. It is only the guy who you speak to on the phone who is not transparent.
Description of Work: I used the service of A-I Martinez Movers for moving in the second week of November.

+ -1 moreHe came in as lowest bid on the the job, but took quite a bit longer than expected and charged several "extra" items that were ok, but he wasn't quite upfront with the costs. In addition, he scratched up a wall and bent a wall light fixture without apologizing or offering a discount.
Description of Work: Moved a sofa, boxes, mattresses. essentially a 1 bedroom apartment.

Most of the men only spoke Spanish and I thought there was going to be a language barrier, but Juan listened to my requests then translated. Everything proceeded like a well oiled machine.
Description of Work: I moved from a one story to a two story home in the Katy area. I have some super heavy pieces of antique furniture and A-1 Martinez movers made it out the door and up the stairs of the new home without a scratch. I was super impressed with how they handled oversized pieces by wrapping corners with plastic wrap and blankets, etc. They arrived on time and did not stop until I prodded them to stop for something to drink. Their charges were rated per hour and they finished sooner than I expected.
