Great! Grass was in very good condition. Hurricane Harvey flooded just about all the grass farms along the coast so I was suprised to find such good quality grass.

He came out and I told him when he was there that I was taking a chance with him, because all of the reviews on him were pretty bad about not getting back to people and all that.  He said, no, no, don't trust all of that. He left and he said, I'll have this to you within like 4 hours, 15 minutes later he called me from his truck and said, I really appreciate you telling me that, and I really want your business and I'm going to offer you all this blah blah blah blah, I'm like okay great. Never got a quote. The next day he called me and said, sorry we got busy blah blah blah, I'll get you a quote today by noon. Never got the quote. Later that afternoon I text him and said, well I have another guy that wants to start tomorrow so I need to get your quote, and I never heard from him again.

Fantastic!! We couldn't be more pleased with our backyard and the results. We will gladly refer 290 Grass Company to our family and friends. Not only was Mario and his assistant awesome, but setting up the job with Randy was a very pleasant experience. She was easy to talk to and worked within our schedule and budget . Anyone looking for a company to lay down sod, should feel very comfortable booking with this company. They will not be disappointed! I would definitely give an A+ to 290 Grass Company

Everything over the phone was handled promptly and professionally. They called to verify directions as our neighborhood is new construction. The driver arrived in the late morning and answered questions I had professionally and courteously. Price per pallet was $125. They also had half pallet options, which was what we ended up needing. Other places don't offer these. I'd asked friends and coworkers about the prices. They'd had deliveries for $105-$110 per pallet in the past, but it's unknown how far back. Overall it was a good experience. I would recommend them to others.

It all went very well. Jimmy, the owner of this company, came out to give me an estimate overview of what needed to be done, what kind of grass would grow under the shade of my Oak trees and recommended 2 red tip shrubs where 2 of mine had died. He also explained the benefit of mulching around my Oaks and suggested that as time went on, I place dirt around the roots of my trees, which are very high on the lawn and extend out greatly, so grass can eventually grow to cover them. We discussed how often to water this grass for the next two weeks. He told me how many panels of St. Augustine grass it would take and said he would email me with all the details of cost. It should be said that he and I discussed the bottom line price of all of the work.
He did email me and my only concern, which I emailed him about, was that he added tax to the bottom line I had agreed to and when I pointed this out, he brought the cost back to our bottom line. We also, through email, agreed that any additions that might occur while his people were doing the work would need to be approved by both of us. I agreed to let them do the work which was to begin and be completed by next day (3/13/2013).
His 2 workers came to work just before the designated time of 9AM, and we discussed what was to be done and completed. The workers were here most of the day and except for breaking for lunch, I saw them working all day. They really did a beautiful job. At the end of the day when the job was finished, the gentleman I was working with told me that he had to leave some trash at my curb and that he would be by in the morning to pick it up and was that okay. I told him it was, and when I looked outside early this morning, it was gone.
As an added nicety, Jimmy gave me flowers that were planted around each Oak, which just added a nice touch. Jimmy came by the next morning to oversee and approve of what had been done and I paid him. He said to 'call him anytime' if I had a problem with the lawn.

290 grass chose poor installers and cheap parts for the irrigation and despite the excuses and apologies from my contact and quot;Jimmyand quot; this very small and simple system has never been right.
During the initial grass removal, the crew did not take out the grass between the sidewalk and the curb. when I called and quot;Jimmyand quot; the main contact for the job, he had them follow through with it. During the installation of the irrigation systems, the subcontractor installed valves and access covers so poorly that they tilted over 30 degrees instead of being level with the grass and the unit for scheduling and monitoring failed. I called and quot;Jimmyand quot; again who made excuses for the subcontractor and sent out another subcontractor to fix the monitor and rain sensors. This subcontractor told me that there were several things wrong with the first contractor's install and that the monitoring unit was of the cheapest quality available. Jimmy agreed to buy the new monitor and pay the new subcontractor to make all repairs to my satisfaction. Weeks later, there were leaks and puddles and some of the grass died. Jimmy sent out the second subcontractor again to make repairs and install new grass where the previous grass was installed.
Throughout this process, Jimmy was very polite and seemed very eager to please but missed appointments to be on the property over 6 times and offered excuses and apologies for the work and for missing appointments.
Now, the valves leak every time the system is used and there are again patches of dead grass. I have waited several months before writing this review to give Jimmy every chance to make the system right and I have finally given up on 290 grass.
