Copper Basin Custom Homes

We did not choose Copper Basin Homes based on lowest bid. We chose them based on the ability to handle a large job in a timely manner. They seemed very professional at first. They did a great job of "sales" on the front end. But one of the main problems with this company is the partner that does the estimates and the partner that oversees the job don or didn't communicate very well. The way the contract was laid out was difficult to follow. This was a large job with many different facets. They couldn't keep straight what was to be done in each room. My wife was here every day and she had to tell each sub what was to be done and to basically oversee the job herself. The GC would show up most days for about 10 or 15 minutes in the morning and that was it. It seemed like all he was concerned about was keeping the job moving along as far as materials and scheduling the subs to be here. In fairness, he did a good job in that regard. The whole job took less than 2 months. The problem is that Copper Basin cares NOTHING about quality. Each and every sub contractor they used did sub par work. they cut every corner they up on. They build quite a few new homes. It seems their company mission is to maximize profits no matter what. They use only the cheapest possible materials. As this project moved along, is became more and more obvious what we were dealing with. To make a long sad story short, it didn't end well. They left the job unfinished. Their granite contractor tried to pass off a different slab of stone than we had selected. The tile work in the master bath looks like a child did it. Texture and paint horrible. The floor crew had to come back 4 times to repair the voids they left under the wood floor. They way they made those repairs was another shortcut. I would never recommend this company to build a dog house, much less a new home or remodel. We paid top dollar expecting to get a top quality job. You don't always get what you pay for.
