Tip Top Tree Service

Never gave the written estimate agreed on. Showed up 2 days then left two large holes from tree removal for 6 weeks. These holes promptly filled with water and became a mosquito breeding ground. They promised that they would get 2 large citrus trees but when I asked the person at the nursery where they get their plants no such order had been placed and those plants weren't even available. They widened a couple of flower beds and mulched without removing the grass. Every time I called I was promised that the next day they would be there. They trimmed half the bushes and left the other half undone. The owner promised that I wouldn't have to pay until the work was done and I was completely satisfied but I was surprised when he kept asking for payments so that he could pay his workers. Whenever there was a delay or problem the owner would blame the workers and claim that they had been slacking. When I called him to ask where they were after 2 weeks he replied Mr. Who?. Not knowing your customer is just not right. Finally I got them to come out after 6 weeks to finish their work and then they spent 15 minutes and left. The owner never came. I called him and he claimed they had gone for supplies. They never returned. I got no calls. In the end I was left to finish the work that they had begun. But worse was fixing what shotty work they had done including trying to save several transplanted plants that were improperly planted. They were very nice and polite throughout which is one of the reasons I tolerated the delays for so long. Oh, I almost forgot, they used some of my tools and chainsaw fuel and oil. Initially they asked permission but then they took liberties to enter the garage and help themselves to other tools. Also things that I explained to them very specifically how I wanted them done were done exactly the way I said not to do them. I even tried to head this all off by telling the owner the experience with the last landscaper and explaining my expectations before work was started. Not effective obviously. I didn't seek them out, they knocked on my door and asked for the work.

I would advise to stay away from them. I had a written agreement with them. They lied to me and they disappeared for about three weeks. They are crooks. They had a written agreement and they didn't perform. I went down and got building materials that were necessary for them to complete their job. I had gotten a credit for them to spend at a home improvement store and they spent the money on other things. They never delivered the materials to the house. That is theft where I come from. They stole from me and didn't perform the services they were paid for and agreed to perform. I hired them to do something and they didn't do it. They did a little bit of the repair of the sprinkler system and it turned out that we had to replace the whole sprinkler system. They gave me an increased price, which I said was fine. They bought the materials and they left my yard with ditches open and never came back. I wouldn’t let them into my yard. F is for fraud.
